Have you heard of “parent coaching?” Before you write it off, before you keep scrolling, let me tell you how I got here… I’m a Therapist and a group practice owner who specializes in working with children of families. I have over 15 years of experience - so why would I focus on coaching and not therapy? 1st of all through coaching, I can reach thousands of families, empowering them to have fully potty trained toddlers! To me that means so many families will feel less stressed, have a ton of more FREEDOM and have children in school and daycare without fear! 2nd, I have found that it is parents who have the biggest impact! If I am lucky, I get to see my clients for 1 hour a week. That's just not enough for little ones! I have learned, I need to empower parents with the tools and skills I would teach their little one so that we can make lasting change and potty train kiddos significantly faster! I teach parents what they need to know so they can apply the tools I give them at home with their child and say bye bye to diapers! I’ve done it with hundreds of parents, just like you. I’ve potty trained tons of children (even those who are non-verbal and even teenagers). What I’ve learned is that as long as you’re dedicated, communicate with me as your coach, and follow the plan specifically created for your family, we will get your toddler fully potty trained. The best BONUS ever, is that many of the skills I teach are not just for potty training but will last a lifetime and support you through your parenting journey. To learn more, Book a call! I can’t wait to meet you!

Parent coaching and consulting has been a large part of my work for the last 20 years as an early childhood educator. As a young parent, I benefited enormously from parenting courses, books, and coaching and know first hand the empowerment that came from that education and support. Research shows that a parent-coaching/training model is more effective in creating lasting changes for the child rather than when parents or caregivers are left out of the process (Harriage et al., 2016, Hogan et al. 2015, Cordisco & Strain, 1986, Hassan et al., 2018). It is not the instructions we obey out of fear of the consequences that will follow if we fail to obey that will stand us out. It is rather the instructions we obey because we have understood it's place in the long scheme of our lives that will establish and stand us out. Remember all the times you were threatened to do a thing or the other, what happened the moments those threats or enforcers were out of your way? You reverted to status quo right? That's what it will always be until you see that those instructions are in your best interest, you will continue to make excuses and struggle to obey them. Toddlers are not left out in this human behavior. If you relate with them from the place of I am right and you are; I am big and you are small, I am strong and you are weak kinda air in dealing with them. It will only be a matter of time before they show you how fast they can get rid of your directions because you were not really directing them in the first place. You were rather commanding and have a field day with your emotional outbursts here and there. Are you still at loss with what to do with your children 3 years and below to best prepare them for the years ahead? Join the Early Years Parent Coaching program starting off in September and will run till December 2024 for as low as #20,000 (ie 5k per month) for daily guides on how to lay the right structures, habits, and effectively prepare yourself and your little ones for the years to come. There will also be an end of the month webinar exclusively for registered participants. You will also be in a supportive community of other parents whose children are in the same age bracket. You will have direct access to me for personalized guidance to navigate your parenting challenges in the early years. And lots more. Now you will agree that all of the above for only 5k per month (paid in a bulk of #20,000 for 4 months) is a real cheat. To come onboard this amazing community, pay #20,000 only into the Zenith Bank account of The Expectant Parent Academy using 1311250658 and forward your proof of payment on WhatsApp to 08133863236. The job of a parent is not an easy one but it can be made enjoying in the process through being in communities such as the Early Years Parent Coaching program. Let's build meaningful communities to win the collective wars against families and children. See you in class. #chiomaokoli #theexpectantparentacademy #pregnancycoach #earlyyearsparentcoach

Recently, I received a feedback from a parent after the coaching. "A truly reflective process of great value for me especially as a first-time parent. Jeyla is patient and very intelligently guides you to amazing insight of how planning and determination can help you live a better life so that your children's lives and by extension, your home, can be light and filled with happiness. Exploration of the different parenting styles was also genuinely beneficial for me as I knew I wanted to do things differently from how I grew up from a schooling/teaching aspect. Sessions were concise and to the point, but I do believe I am still reaping the endless benefits from them. I am very grateful for the experience and will highly recommend her to anyone who thinks they may need a little assistance with being a parent or simply want to explore the different parenting styles." 🧡 The most heartwarming part of my work is to see how parents thrive and get closer to what they call 'dream' at the beginning of coaching process. How tasking is it to give a toddler an instruction and see him or her follow through 😂? Really tasking most times especially if the child dislikes what you are asking him to do and if that would prevent him from continuing in an activity or play he's currently engaged in. In the just concluded Holiday Bootcamp for Toddler Parents I told the story of the incident that made me intentionally work on getting my kids obey instructions more. You should go watch the video if you haven't. Link will be in the comment section. I will be sharing 4 of the strategies to make it easy for your young to pay attention when you speak and obey your instructions. I am currently working on an expanded version of An Instructions Guide for Toddler Parents, which is a more detailed work on getting your toddler to obey instructions without fights or getting you worked up. You should expect it. ✍️ Speak with authority. When you say a thing to a toddler and make it sound like a suggestion, you are leaving room for the child to decide if he should listen or not. This is exactly why it looks as if children listen only to their fathers and not their mothers. ✍️ Clarity of assignment. Keep your instructions as clear as a glass of drinking water. Toddlers don't thrive in ambiguous statements not to talk of ambiguous instructions. ✍️ Simple and straightforward. The moment you begin or end an instruction with a litany of how you've said it countless times before or how your child does not hear when asked to do things or whatever dissatisfaction it is you have. You have already set the child up not to follow through your instructions. Begin with simple one short sentence instruction and progress to longer sentences as the child advances. ✍️ Reaffirm what you have said. This is where you ask your child to repeat what you said. Funny thing is that sometimes they repeat what is far from what you have said and that leaves to appreciate why your little one do not obey your instructions: they simply didn't understand you. If you are a parent of children less than 3 years and you are always overwhelmed and not knowing what to do with him or them per time, do well to enroll for early years parent coaching community starting off in September. Infants and toddlers may be pretty small but they have a brain that is developing really fast. Feed their developing brains with what will set them on the right path to growth and all round development in the coming years.
