Congratulations to our Radius UK Challenge teams for another fantastic event!
This year 21 of our colleagues travelled to Dartmoor to take part in the world’s leading team building event. Our team captains Andrew Weston, Matthew Tague and Selena Davies led their teams through challenges including running, cycling, canoeing, swimming as well as strategy tasks.
Before the event the Radius teams were busy fundraising for the Beefy's Charity Foundation. The total amount raised was £12,900 which resulted in the teams being awarded the Corporate Charity Award for the most money raised.

Over the next few months I’ll be doing a fair few races - namely a 124km bike race, a triathlon, and two half marathons (one road and one trail). I’ve chosen to support the charity, the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID).
It all starts tomorrow and finishes on the 10th of November. Wish me luck. #RNID
Since joining Prosperity 24/7, I've come to realise that there's not much that brings us together like a good Love to Ride challenge. We managed to top our respective leaderboards in the recent May challenge, although Greener Kirkcaldy gave us an excellent run for our money.
We got new people involved in the challenge, we saved an estimated 546lb CO2 through cycling instead of driving and as well as cheering on our usual stalwarts, I also discovered which colleagues will come through last thing on a Friday and undertake a round-the-island-cycle for the extra miles...
Sure, winning is fun but what's really nice is to see the behaviour changes starting to take root in the segment of our company that aren't die-hard cyclists (and I include myself in that). Last September I noted that I'm a reluctant cyclist but I'm becoming less reluctant and more willing to do that commute by bicycle. I've also noticed our bike store becoming busier and less frequent cyclists populating the Love to Ride feed more often. That's no mean feat. As someone who deals with change while delivering projects, change isn't always easy to embed but I've always been a fan of gamification as motivation in the right settings.
And one of those right settings will be Prosperity Day in September, when our colleagues and clients will compete for bragging rights but also for the much better reason of raising money for charity - this year, we're supporting Healing Waves UK and Jersey Hospice Care - two very deserving charities. So, if you want to do your part, why not sign up for or donate to the tenth Prosperity Day?

It's #WorldBicycleDay! So what better day to tell you that the 10th edition of Prosperity Day is ready to launch! 🚀 So far we've raised £160,000 for charity and this year we want to raise £40,000 for Jersey Hospice Care and Healing Waves UK
Our annual charity fundraising event sees corporate rivals go ‘head to head to head’ in a fast paced stationary cycling challenge. Using our brand new Wahoo KICKR bikes to complete a virtual 30 minute race using 3D Race technology, teams of three will compete against each other to gain race day points which are added to their all important fundraising total and will see who tops the podium.

As Whitefield Youth Association Enters 2024 This Will Mean 22 Years Of Delivering Service Provision Across The Communities Of Burnley & Pendle!
Initially Set Up As A Community Voluntary Group In 2002 And Then Becoming A Fully Fledged UK Registered Charity Since 2010, It Has Worked With Well Over 5000 Children, Young People And Adults Since First Establishing.
Since 2018 It Has Been Running All Its Operational Delivery Through Self-Generated Income With Very Minimal Grant Support – It Has Received No Local, Regional Or Government Support For Over A Decade And Yet It Is Still Here Demonstrating Determination, Grit And Resilience To Continue To Be Able To Deliver.
At The Beginning Of This Financial Year The Charity Was Looking To Recruit 50 Businesses To Help Pay Towards The Core Costs Of Operating The Charity – These Efforts Will Be Intensified As Only 50% In Total Have So Far Been Secured – This Will Enable Whitefield To Be Able To Continue To Deliver Service Provision.
Substantial Investment Has Come Within Burnley & Pendle Through All The Government Funding That Is Allocated By Local And Regional Authorities As Well As Large Funding Bodies Such As The National Lottery But The Key Question To Ask Is What Has Changed?
Apart From The Local Charities Or Council Employees Keeping Their Jobs What Real Impact Is Being Made? Are The Local Disadvantaged Communities Being Used As Cash Cows And Not Being The Correct Tools To Become More Aspirational And Less Reliant Upon Funding – That Is The Key Question?
Our Charity Places Responsibility On All It Engages With, It Encourages All To Take Ownership Of Their Situation And Look At Pathways Of Improving It Which In Turn Improves Not Only Themselves But Also The Wider Community – Create Aspirational Communities With Ambition And Belief Who Take Self Responsibility Of Themselves And Their Communities.
If You Or Your Business Would Like To Become Part Of Our Journey Please Direct Message And We Can Have A Discussion, Your Sponsorship Will Be Spent Directly In The Communities That It Operates Within With Minimal Management Costs – Make Your Hard Earned Money Actually Make A Real Difference In The Communities Your Businesses Operate Within.
The WYA Sponsorship Scheme - £25.00 | Month Equates To £5.77 / Week Tax Deductible

Life is incredible, but can be more fragile than we sometimes appreciate.
This October, a team of 6 of us, will be taking on the CHX #MeetYourMountain Challenge 2024, in support of our chosen charity – The Millimetres 2 Mountains Foundation.
This tiny charity, founded by Ed & Louis Jackson, after Ed Jackson (a professional rugby player at the time) suffered a life-changing and hugely traumatic spinal cord injury, leaving him paralysed from the shoulders down. Ed’s journey from hopelessness to climbing some of the highest mountains in the world, is our inspiration to go higher & further, and we hope you’ll take it with us!
For those of you who know me, I am passionate about action sports and being out of my comfort zone where the risks are visible and obvious, as it can teach us our most valuable lessons. At the same time, so can charging down a hill with my little boys on their bikes.
Life is incredibly special, but fragile to the same degree. Our life-circumstances can change in a heartbeat, in the midst of everyday life. That is why I am so passionate about this.
Life-changing can be life-changing if we have the support to make it that way!
We will be competing with 5 other teams (representing their own charities) over 2 days on the Mont Blanc massif, accumulating as many points as we can by covering as much distance, and gaining as much altitude as possible, raising as much fundraising for #M2M as we possibly can.
We will be aiming for around 6km of altitude gain, equivalent to doing twice that of the British 3 peaks challenge, at twice the altitude, where the air is thinner and the summits are higher! We will endeavour to surpass 60km of distance and £12,000, aiming to get on the top step of the podium.
We can of course go fast alone, but we can go further together. Please chuck what you can in our virtual bucket – know that you’re doing something awesome, and I’ll keep you up to date with training, teaming & achieving

The best thing about donating to a charitable cause is that.... you donate and make a difference. Sometimes you may think that if I do not donate X amount, it's not worth it or what will people think. On the other hand, in times like the present one, where a large section of the population in most parts of the world, is bearing the burnt of constantly high prices, one may feel the need to not spend much on anything that is perceived to be necessary.
Well, in times like these the charitable causes need our support the most. And guess what, every #donation, no matter how small it is, counts. This is where power of community comes to work.
For example, I am running in this year's #tcslondonmarathon for raising £ 2000 for Get Kids Going!, a UK based #charity, inspiring differently abled youngsters to compete in sporting events, from start to paralympic level providing them full support.
As of today, I have managed to raise £ 562. I have four more weeks to complete the goal. So,
- if 1438 of my 6615 #LinkedIn connections choose to donate £ 1 each
- if 719 of my 1200 #UK based LinkedIn connections choose to donate £ 2 each
- if 480 of my 1000 #London based LinkedIn connections choose to donate £ 3 each
I will reach my target. Sharing below the link to donate to my cause, with great hope:
Head Safe Football provides emotional and practical support, evidence-based knowledge and up to date research for footballers and their families. 𝗕𝘂𝘁, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁! CTE affects players, male and female, at all levels of the sport. Help us save anyone who has ever headed a football from a future life destroyed by brain disease. Save the players. Save the game. ⚽🐘
Fundraising is a great way to support a cause you're passionate about. Here are some ways you can raise funds for Head Safe Football:
1️⃣ Organise a sponsored sporting event, for example: cycle, swim, walk, run, golf day, dog walk or even a skydive (if you're feeling extra adventurous! 🪂)
2️⃣ Social fundraisers such as planning a charity ball/gala, hosting a dinner party or organising a music event are great ways to raise money and bring people together.
3️⃣ You can even fundraise from home by hosting a quiz night (this could be virtual!), organising a raffle/tombola or simply making a donation via the Head Safe Football website!
If you're planning on fundraising for Head Safe Football, please drop us an email to let us know!
