We had the pleasure of feeding back another set of results to a company today. Some of the highlights include: 81% decrease in the number of people reporting moderate to severe levels of anxiety. From 30% to 6% of the attendees. Increase in productivity of 25.3 mins per day per person. 100% think this programme should be rolled out on a wider basis. Based on the outcomes, we believe they have generated a return to the organisation of 17.7 / for every £1 spent or an ROI of £397k. 100% agree that applying the skills enabled them to work, feel or live better. The application of skills across areas is high. 84% use the skills with their team, and 74% use them with their family.

'From Chaos To Control' This 👆 had been our Quarter 1 theme for our business and had been a running theme across the Premier Education network since our National Training Event in February. As we now enter Q2, its time to reflect on what we have implemented since September to move us closer to control 🧘♂️ and further away from chaos 😩 💲 We have a weekly call with our management accountant and finance director to ensure we are on track with all of our financial metrics. This allows us to spot any early signs regarding the businesses performance and put mitigations in place to rectify these. 🗣 We have introduced a daily call for all delivery staff who are not timetabled to be in a school. This has a different focus each day and is designed as a supporting measure to help staff with their planning, assessments and any other challenges they are facing in their working week. With us being a remote business spread across 5 counties at times our staff can feel isolated as they may not see another team member face to face until the next holiday camp period. 🤩 We identified a cohort of high performing activity professionals who were promoted to senior activity professional level. These staff members have a sub-group call with the a small number of apprentices and activity professionals on a weekly basis to ensure that they have everything they need to perform to the highest level and is another way to improve the rhythm of our business so key messages can be passed up and down effectively. Issues can be dealt with and opportunities explored. 📈 We have refined and improved our CQI process. This means that each activity professional is getting formally assessed by our CQI team atleast once every quarter. This is followed up with a professional discussion within 7 days of the assessment taking place where key action points can be listed and agreed for the activity professional to work on in their delivery. One exercise led by the facilitator stood out: close your eyes, raise your hand, and point to the south. 'Engagement' - our sector's obsession for which there's no silver bullet. The bullet if there is one (or two), is time, equity and relationships - things that funders don't really tend to fund at the moment. So instead, we have to have to be creative, keep asking what works, measure the success and use the tools we have. That first contact is vital, which is why we go on about values so much. Over the phone, WhatsApp, Zoom or a coffee, we've got a small window in which to make a first impression. To build enough trust that they will want to come to our workshops or 1-2-1 support. This webpage, is just one of many many tools, that the Your Own Place CIC Advisory Board helped us to design. We share it with prospective trainees when we first meet them. It shows trainees who we are, who they might actually be working with in the team and the kinds of approaches we might take. In this way it is designed to answer a lot of questions, alleviate some of the anxieties that are natural about the unknown and make us real.
