I'm excited to share that I recently had the honor of serving as a panelist at Feedback Month, where we delved deep into the importance of feedback in today's professional landscape. During the session, we explored various facets of constructive feedback, its pivotal role in personal and professional growth, and how to cultivate a culture of open and honest communication within organizations. Some key takeaways from our discussion: - The Power of Constructive Feedback: It's not just about pointing out areas of improvement, but also recognizing strengths and achievements. - Creating a Safe Environment: Encouraging a non-judgmental atmosphere where team members feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and perspectives. - Timeliness and Specificity: Providing feedback promptly and with clear, actionable points helps in better understanding and faster improvement. - Two-Way Street: Feedback isn't just top-down. Encouraging upward and peer feedback can lead to a more engaged and cohesive team. - Following Up: Feedback should be an ongoing conversation, not a one-time event. Regular check-ins ensure continuous development and mutual understanding. We also know that there are no one-size-fits-all solutions. That's why yesterday we listened to the different points of view of Iulia Kopczynski, Paulina Gatkowska and Wojciech Matuszak. We considered how technology and AI will help us give feedback, what to do when emotions arise, why it's important to share your observations on an ongoing basis, and how to do it in a friendly way.
