Thanks to NCCIA for a great event this week, and congratulations on your 10th anniversary! Chris Wartko was thrilled to present with Dana Hentges Sheridan and Diana Hardy, CPA, CFE at yesterday's Many Voices, One Goal panel discussion about the importance of diversity in the captive space. He said the audience was fantastic and so engaged! (And for everyone who asked him - we are absolutely hiring! The term collaboration is often used to describe the process that exists when two or more individuals or organizations work together to achieve shared goals. Collaborations are nice. But #partnerships are better. Why? Because #partnerships require #commitment. #Commitment is the glue that holds partnerships together. It fosters mutual trust between partners, sustainability and long-term success, accountability, and solidarity. Ako Insurance Consulting, LLC and The Black Friday Network are proud to have created not just collaborations, but partnerships, with the various NAAIA - National African American Insurance Association Chapters across the country. For each of the 7 Black Friday events that were held in Atlanta, Washington DC, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Detroit, and Miami, the respective NAAIA Chapters have worked with us side by side to bring equitable opportunities to Agents of Color, more specifically Black Agents. The commitment to our shared goal of diversifying the #insuranceindustry is the foundation of our partnership. We are excited to continue the local relationship that we have with NAAIA by co-hosting the Black Friday Charlotte event with the NAAIA Charlotte Chapter. Thank you to Omar J. Powell, President, LaTasha Sinclair, Vice President, the Board of Directors, and Members for your commitment to collaborating in order to form this partnership! If you are a #BlackAgent in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, or Georgia and you are interested in benefiting from this partnership, then join us at the #BlackFriday Charlotte event! 📆 Friday, February 9, 2024 🕘 9 :00a to 5:30p est 📍 Selective Insurance - Regional Office, 6210 Ardrey Kell Road, Charlotte, North Carolina Registration is OPEN! https://lnkd.in/eYQb3nCu #Insurance #BlackInsuranceAgents #NAAIA #insuranceprofessionals #NAAIACharlotte #blackinsuranceprofessionals #partnerships #Charlotte #insuranceindustry #NAAIANOW

What is "Partnership" when it comes to companies that support #employeebenefits consultants (like me) in delivering stellar service and value to our clients? It's a commitment to excellence. It's making yourself available to teach. Who demonstrates this daily? Who is the Best of the Best? Holly Kovy at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska demonstrates excellence in everything she does - she is a true partner. She shows up. She reminds us that #healthinsurance can be easy to understand. She is not afraid to try #newthings. The #statusquo is not in her vocabulary. Holly Kovy keep being you. Keep showing up! I appreciate and value you. #partnership #gallagher #womensupportingwomen #clientservices Leah Vetter Linnea Fellows Nancy Spidle Ron Rowe Jeff Russell

Thank to everyone who contributed, argued, agreed and disagreed with my posts. I’ll be fading away from LinkedIn over the next couple of months. Take care!
For clarity I will say what I believe to be the way forward for the CAF. First - revision of CF education system (close Toronto and move it to either Ottawa or Kingston). Second - Buy from the Americans (or Brits) enough gear to create 3 equal battle groups. Third - solve the Airborne conundrum by (re)creating the Airborne regiment (as marines). Place them on the west coast. 4th solve the supply-chain conundrum.
One word - Lethality. Great news on a number of fronts. The RCAF has racked up the wins on capability over the last year. Congrats to BGen Chris McKenna, and the entire team that made this happen. See comments for link.

Aspiring Industry Leader in Autonomous/Unmanned Systems| Innovating the Future of Maritime Security with Advanced Technologies and Cutting-Edge Solutions|Food Truck Owner|Taco Enthusiast
A Testament to Teamwork and Brotherhood In the early days of Maritime Security Response Team West (MSRT-West), what truly stood out was not just the missions completed, but the incredible team effort that brought the unit to life. The process of standing up MSRT-West was one of the most challenging periods any of us faced. The long hours, mental and physical exhaustion, and high expectations could have easily overwhelmed any one of us. But what made those days remarkable was the unwavering commitment of every team member. It wasn’t just individuals working toward a goal; it was a cohesive unit, a brotherhood bound by a shared sense of purpose. It wasn’t just about achieving operational readiness—it was about the pride felt in each other's success, the trust placed in one another, and the camaraderie that turned difficult tasks into achievable milestones. Together, challenges were faced head-on, driven by a collective will to succeed. The sense of pride that comes from knowing that everyone played a part in establishing what MSRT-West has become today is immeasurable. But even more rewarding was the camaraderie and brotherhood built along the way. Support for one another through the grueling days forged bonds that will last a lifetime. MSRT-West is more than just a unit; it’s a testament to what can be achieved when a group of dedicated individuals comes together with a common goal. The teamwork, pride, and camaraderie that were at the core of those efforts continue to be the foundation upon which MSRT-West stands today. Thanks For The Memories: Neal Bueno, Brian L., Kevin Leake, Heriberto "Eddie" Arámbula, PhD Gary Banuelos, Andrew Coppa, Matthew R., and to all the ones I was not able to tag. #USCG #MSRTWest #Teamwork #Brotherhood #Camaraderie #Pride #Leadership #DeployableSpecializedForces #Cohesion

Earlier this week I received an email from someone who called BTR TMRW a "movement." It was just a single word within one of many emails, but it carried so much significance, to the point where I'm still thinking about it today. I never had the audacity to even think that we could create a movement. But the beauty of this email was that it came from someone outside of our group, someone who was simply describing what he felt, with no strings attached. And what he felt was that in a very short amount of time, we've managed to take an idea and transform it into something others can actually feel in their hearts. A movement. I know it's only just the beginning, but I can't tell you how thankful I am to have come this far. It's so much further than I dared to imagine when I first shared with Austin this dream I'd been harboring called BTR TMRW. Just the other day, we were joking about the fact that we're "official" now because we have t-shirts. But I suppose there's always some truth to every joke. And the truth is, we do have t-shirts. We have a community. We have a group of people who share very similar thoughts when it comes to building their legacy and striving for a better future.
