𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Being a Mother is no easy feat. Today, as we celebrate the remarkable women who have shaped our lives with their love, sacrifice, and unwavering support, it's difficult to put into words just how extraordinary mothers truly are. There are countless stories, incidents, and examples that illustrate the sheer greatness of mothers, yet it's a feat that often defies description. One of the most remarkable qualities of a mother is her ability to sacrifice without expecting anything in return. 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐲𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐥𝐲. From the moment they hold their child in their arms, they dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to nurturing, guiding, and protecting, all without seeking recognition or reward. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Not all mothers are perfect; they make mistakes, they stumble, and they learn along the way. Yet, in the eyes of their children, they are nothing short of perfection. It's a testament to the depth of love that transcends flaws and imperfections, creating a bond that is unbreakable and everlasting. Today, let's honor and celebrate all mothers, not just for their endless sacrifices or unwavering love, but for simply being who they are – imperfectly perfect in the eyes of those they cherish most. Happy Mother's Day! 🌸 #MothersDay #UnconditionalLove #CelebratingMoments

Title: Celebrating Motherhood Through History In 1957, Ibuzin and her husband Babul welcomed a baby boy into their lives, naming him Naog Nicodemus—a joyous moment marking the start of a new chapter in their family's story. Throughout history, mothers have epitomized happiness upon welcoming the next generation. Just like Hannah from the Bible, who fervently prayed for a child and eventually gave birth to Samuel, mothers often embody resilience and devotion. From the very beginning, the divine command to Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:27-28 to "be fruitful and multiply" illustrates the sacredness and importance of motherhood in human existence. For guidance and inspiration, women can turn to Proverbs chapter 31, which extols the virtues of a capable and industrious woman, highlighting the multifaceted roles mothers play in managing households and even businesses. In closing, it's crucial for husbands to support and empower their wives in fulfilling their potential, recognizing and valuing their contributions not only within the family but also in broader societal spheres.

As we approach Mother's Day, it's important to reflect on the essence of this celebration — a heartfelt homage to the profound influence of mothers in our lives and society. The inception of Mother's Day in the United States is attributed to Anna Jarvis, who, inspired by her own mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis's altruistic deeds, initiated a movement to commemorate the selfless love of all mothers. Ann Reeves Jarvis's legacy as a community activist, organizing "Mother's Work Days" to educate on child-rearing and sanitation, paved the way for the notion of a dedicated day for mothers. On May 10, 1908, Anna Jarvis's advocacy bore fruit with the first official Mother's Day events in Grafton, West Virginia, and Philadelphia, each one echoing her vision of an intimate, family-oriented celebration. This intimate sentiment, however, faced the tides of commercialization as the holiday gained popularity. The initial idea of personalized tributes gave way to widespread consumerism, a shift that deeply troubled Jarvis throughout her life as she witnessed her authentic vision being overshadowed by profit-driven motives. Despite such struggles, the spirit of Mother's Day as a time to honor maternal bonds and acknowledge the sacrifices and contributions of mothers has persevered. Across the globe, the day has various interpretations, from the United Kingdom's Mothering Sunday to other international observances, each embodying unique historical and cultural significance. Today, professionals should take a moment to consider how Mother's Day aligns with broader goals of social responsibility and personal acknowledgment. In any industry, the values of care, empathy, and appreciation hold immense power. Recognizing the role of mothers transcends commercial transactions, tapping into the universality of gratitude and respect. As we celebrate Mother's Day, let it serve as a reminder of the strength and resilience instilled in us by influential figures like mothers. It is incumbent upon us to honor these relationships not only through tokens of appreciation but also by embodying the virtues they have imparted. The future of this celebration lies in our hands, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure its integrity remains intact for generations to come. cw: abuse White women: WE NEED TO RECLAIM OUR POWER. For hundreds of years, white men and their white women enablers have held onto power and conditioned us to support them ✔️Abusing us into submission mentally, physically and sexually ✔️Making us feel that we are not knowledgeable enough, thin enough, or pretty enough for our opinions to matter ✔️Infantilizing us with rewards for trusting and obeying them ✔️Encouraging us to distrust other women and ourselves ✔️Distracting us with social media and entertainment so we would not pay attention to ourselves ✔️Calling us a bitch for daring to assert ourselves until we stopped trying. We have become so used to all of this, that we are not even aware of how much power we have and how much is possible for us when we unite and lift each other up instead of competing with each other. It’s no wonder why so many of us are lying awake at night worrying about our future and our daughters, nonbinary and trans kids and feeling stuck and confused. Do you want to reclaim your power? The truth is we as white women have tremendous power. Today far too many of us are using our power to uphold white supremacy and harm women, especially Black and Indigenous women. We are also harming ourselves. When we choose to unite with Global Majority women, we can change everything. That’s what the Interracial Sisterhood Coalition is all about. If this message speaks to you, would love for you to join the White Women Cohort, where we will unlearn our conditioning, and learn how we can stand in our power united with our Global Majority sisters. https://lnkd.in/g2MBm6QK #whitewomen #endracism #overthrowthepatriarchy #interracialsisterhood #interracialsolidarity

A huge thank you to Ruth Penfold-Brown for having me at Bloom this week.🌟 I'm so passionate about delivering impactful talks, especially to remarkable women who are driving change within their organisations 👏 As working parents, the journey can be both rewarding and challenging. That's why it's crucial to foster environments that support us in being set up for success at home and in our careers. A recent study revealed that a staggering ‼️80% of working parents are on the brink of burnout – and I was definitely part of this statistic for a number of years after having my son (that story is for another day) This has to change! 👇 During my talk, we delved into practical strategies and eye-opening insights aimed at empowering both working parents and those who support us. Here's a snapshot of what we covered: 1️⃣ Redefining Parental Leave: Let's acknowledge parental leave as the transformative period it truly is. The transition back to work post-baby 👶🏻 is multifaceted and often overwhelming. Recognising and supporting this journey is vital for both parents and their support networks. 2️⃣ Embracing Matrescence and Patrescence: Just as adolescence marks a significant transition to adulthood, matrescence and patrescence signify the transformative journey into parenthood. Understanding these processes helps us navigate the challenges and changes with greater empathy and awareness. 👉 If we spoke about these terms more in our society, it's been proven to reduce post-natal depression in both mothers and fathers. 3️⃣ Work-Life Balance is a myth: Instead of striving for an impossible work-life balance, let's focus on setting healthy boundaries. Honoring these boundaries 🙏🏼such as respecting commitments like the nursery run, is essential for fostering a supportive workplace culture. 4️⃣ Energy Management for Resilience 💥 Self-care tends to take two things that working parents have in short supply - high disposable income and time 😳 So we need to think about this differently by managing our energy effectively through prioritising activities that recharge us and letting go of energy-draining tasks. This is how we can build resilience and thrive in both our parenting and our careers. As we strive to champion inclusivity and support for working parents, it's crucial to recognise that parenting was never meant to be done in isolation. In today's world, with its unique challenges, we need infrastructures, unwavering support, and strong allies at work to navigate the complexities of modern parenting successfully. 💼👨👩👧👦 #WorkingParents #SupportiveWorkplaces #empowerment
Founder of Bloom | Leadership | Culture | Wellness | Authenticity | On a mission to create a world where we get to be all of who we are
Bloom is packed full of amazing women in People and Talent who want to make a difference. If you are reading this somewhere on LinkedIn, my guess is maybe you are one of those too...? Whether or not you are a mother, we all have a deep duty of care to our fellow humans, to help them navigate all the experiences life throws our way. I was thrilled that Kelly Vickery from the Mother Connection agreed to come and speak with us on how we can support ourselves and others in motherhood. The workshop was AMAZING, and Kelly really knows her stuff in this area. If you want to level up your teams knowledge in this area... highly recommend! She covered things like the transformation a human goes through when having a child, it's a whole new phase of life, matresence and patresence (the stages we enter with motherhood and fatherhood, a bit like adolescence). We also covered the boundaries we might need to have in order to fulfil caregiving roles, and the power of self care amidst it all. I have often said; 'self care is the conversation that we are having with ourselves when no one is around. I'd add to that the rhythms and structure we live in. Thank you Kelly and the Bloom crew, you are amazing! ✳️

Founder and CEO of Call Emmy, AWS Accelerator ('22), Catalyst Alum ('22) | Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Business in Colorado ('21)
🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 On September 27th, The Women's Foundation of Colorado is taking a significant step towards empowering women by offering childcare at its upcoming luncheon. We at Call Emmy are honored to have been selected to support this amazing offering. This initiative is a powerful reminder of how essential it is to provide women with the resources they need to grow their careers, network with peers, and access professional opportunities. This partnership supports these goals and reflects why I founded Call Emmy in the first place. Reliable childcare isn’t just a convenience—it’s a crucial support system that enables women to thrive. Why just women? According to Pew Research, over 66% of caregiving lands on moms' shoulders. It’s a powerful testament to an organization's authenticity when they prioritize this need, creating spaces where all women can participate fully without barriers. Let’s continue to advocate for solutions that empower women and drive systemic change. Get your tickets today if you haven't already! https://lnkd.in/grAhKu2s #Childcare #WomenEmpowerment #Networking #ProfessionalGrowth
