In our quest to launch 200 Indoor Vertical Farms we have so many interesting conversations. I told you about the property folks. In the last few days we have been speaking with Strategic Partners. These are folks that want to be partners with us. For example, folks who want to operate the farms, own farms, and help with being offtakers. We spoke with a VC firm that we are not a fit for, but is introducing us to other VCs that we are a fit for. What is the most interesting, is seeing how each type sees different aspects of our business Some focus on the technology, some focus on the real estate, and some focus on the offtake. It was a great pleasure for me to present some of my research regarding Future of Real Estate 🏠and Sustainable Construction 🏗️ 🌱 and the resulting investment opportunities at the #EuropeanVentureFair by Emerald Technology Ventures few weeks ago. The asset class #realestate is becoming much more complex in the future which leaves room for more differentiation and requires fresh interdisciplinary minds that dare to go new ways and put the real estate user in the center. There is no doubt about this. Increasing interest rates are only one driver of this change. In the mid-term the impact of new priorities in our society such as #netzero, #newwork and #servitization will be even more transformative. This holds enormous investment #opportunities in the areas of #proptech, #constructiontech, #materials and #cleantech. The go-to-market in this long-established value chain is not easy for real innovations between many oligopolies, but it can succeed, as the panel discussion with my esteemed colleagues Naveen M., Dr. Verena Adamheit and @austin runnels also showed. The fact that the #EVF focused on cleantech in its entire breadth and brought together investors from the energy, mobility, construction, and materials sectors (and more) makes me hopeful that the transformation in the ecosystem can succeed with joint efforts! I have incredibly exciting news to share! From 1 December 2023, I'm joining Robeco as a Client Portfolio Manager. This is one of those unforgettable milestones, but let me explain why. Anyone who knows my story of musician turned investment specialist can agree that my path to becoming a champion for sustainable investing was certainly not a given. I had to purposefully and deliberately carve my path toward something I believe in and will remain passionate about. And while music remains a core part of who I am, it is the transformative and inspiring influence of sustainable investing that gets me excited to go to work every day. Communication - whether on stage or in the boardroom - is not only one of my specialties but (I believe) the key to enabling initiatives that address the most pressing problems of today.
