Serial entrepreneur, created more than 300 million Euro in exit value. Turnarounds, Growth for Entrepreneurs
Social Media is brutal. It works: I indirectly get nearly 50% of my entrepreneurs on their growth journey through LinkedIn. Yet, I often feel like I am losing out in the rat race of ever more trivial personal content. People are posting pics of their Zoom conferences. ChatGPT. I want to be different, so I only post when I have an original thought, so I post only every couple of weeks. Yet, sometimes, this is what creates real magic. This week, I got a call from a top VC who told me he had been on a similar journey and is now incorporating coaching into a curriculum for entrepreneurs they fund. Seeing the human in the asset. A genuine paradigm shift from the purely functional founder-investor relations we often observe behind the facade of the ever-accessible investor. We had one of the most inspired phone calls, sharing thoughts of experiences because we knew we were on the same page. It was a magical collaboration with someone I had only seen once or twice, maybe five years ago. At the Sustainable Aero Lab, our accelerator program, something similar happened during the past few months. Large and relevant organizations contacted us simply because they shared a similar world view. This resulted in more funding, new mentors joining, and deeper information exchange on a global level. Take away from this? It pays to be real. To share what you really think and feel. Not to please the crowds. Not to use clickbait let alone ai. Let's be real and create magic together.

What is Hilton CEO Chris Nassetta doing on LinkedIn that you may not be? What about former Tinder CEO Renate Nyborg? And what kind of content is LinkedIn prioritizing, not just today but for the future? The answers to these and other questions can be found in our new post, Effective CEO LinkedIn Strategy. We look at best practices on the platform for CEOs to position themselves and their companies as well as how to leverage LinkedIn to convey thought leadership. For example, Anastasia Volkova, PhD, cofounder of regenerative agriculture company Regrow Ag, consistently posts news relevant to her industry, while weaving in her own insights. https://lnkd.in/e4G6KtZr

Curated Content for Visionaries, Innovators and Critical Thinkers Exploring the World of Tomorrow | Professor of Entrepreneurship, Marketing & Innovation | Keynote Speaker | Author | Founder.
Imagine you're facing heart problems. Who would you turn to for an examination? To a cardiologist, a specialist with in-depth knowledge of heart conditions, or to a general practitioner, who covers a broad range of medical issues? And which of the two could demand a higher fee for the check-up? #Positioning is crucial for startups, primarily because their advertising budgets are often constrained. This limitation means they can exert only minimal, if any, communication pressure, which makes it imperative that their communication is highly relevant and effective. #Founders often want to reach EVERYONE with their services, meaning they do not limit their target group in the hope of reaching a larger market. However, the communication message then becomes so abstract in order to appeal to everyone that it ends up appealing to no one. Therefore, it normally makes sense to identify a niche aligned with the founders' interests, where they can offer added value through their services and ensure profitability. The perfect #niche is one meter wide and one kilometer deep. After identifying a suitable niche, #startups can still employ the Bowling Pin Strategy, as discussed by Moore. This approach involves selecting a niche, establishing a strong presence within it, and then progressively targeting adjacent niches, much like knocking down subsequent pins in a bowling game. Each "pin" represents a separate market segment with its own unique value proposition, communication messages, and so forth. What are your thoughts on this? This content is from a #keynote I gave for founders last week. You can find more of the thoughts I shared in it in the latest issue of my weekly newsletter MadeMeThink. 👉 Click the notification bell 🔔 on my LinkedIn profile and subscribe to my weekly publication #MadeMeThink (see my profile) to keep up with my curated content for visionaries, innovators, and critical thinkers 👈
