In the bustling city of Las Vegas, Nevada, Super Bowl LVIII is currently underway, with the dazzling Allegiant Stadium taking center stage as the host venue. The excitement is palpable as football enthusiasts and fans from all corners eagerly anticipate the unfolding spectacle, promising a perfect blend of sportsmanship, entertainment, and the vibrant energy unique to Vegas. Las Vegas is known for many things: casinos, spectacular shows, over-the-top nightlife, and bad decisions (hey, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, as they say!) For foodies like me, Sin City is most famous for one thing: buffets. No city in America gives you a better opportunity to eat your weight in delicious food. But how did Vegas become so synonymous with the all-you-can-eat buffet? For that matter, how did buffets get started in the first place? Let’s dig in… #lasvegas #SuperBowlLVIII

Yard House Best on tap 2024 in the books. Congratulations to all the bartenders that made it some of the best talents out there till next year. By all means not an easy competition pour testing, detailed recipe knowledge, beer knowledge, blind beer tasting, wine knowledge description taste profiles, along with speed and hospitality. The judging, comes down to a fraction an ounce. A lineup of beers and describing the taste profile and what type of beer it is what kind of style it is. What kind of varietal that wine is just by the smell and taste. Is it two drops of bitters or four is it a lemon or an orange ?Doing all this while lineup of judges analyzes your every move. Do you have what it takes to best on tap?
Ten of our top bartenders brought some serious skills to our Best on Tap competition yesterday — but only one walked away a winner. Congratulations to Andrew Stafford from Denver, CO — he's bringing home the title and an epic $5,000 grand prize! 🏆

A productive week spent at the Brewers Association CBC in Vegas, meeting suppliers, brewers, and event organizers. Massive thanks to the Brewers Association and Konvoy for their support. Excited to share that there are lots of BD opportunities for We Are Beer down the line. Looking forward to a productive summer working with both organizations over here in the UK. Despite the challenges that the industry is facing globally, leaving Las Vegas feeling pretty positive. Why? ➡ Because the topline trading numbers are decent and people still want premium. The raw material for commercial success is there. ➡ Because the craft and indy sector is where the vast majority of "new" in beer starts, and where the creative capital lies - both brands and products. ➡ Because we're entering into a new phase for good beer and we haven't really seen the sector make its move post-covid. Knowing and meeting the hard working and smart people in beer, and seeing some of the plans and strategies coming into play, I think you'll see good beer kick on again. Which is great for the whole category. Excited to get stuck in.

It's Fieldays week! If you can squeeze in the time, then I encourage you all to visit. I have a deep connection (past Board member, Innovations judge - and more...). But regardless of the past, I get such a kick out visiting each year. First, seeing this years' innovations - the gift that keeps growing (puns always intended). Clever people and technology adding value to NZInc. As a patent attorney it is particularly gratifying to see the commercial version of what you first came across as a raw concept, and as an IP strategist, it is such a pleasure to see how inventors and companies position themselves. Next, I am reminded how we are all interconnected in the Agritech space and how it underpins NZ's economic fabric. We all depend upon and support each other. Last - mussel fritters! Need I say more... See you there.
Thinking of making the most of ‘industry days’, Wednesday and Thursday at Fieldays – why not purchase a VIP Business Plus Ticket? Event access on Wednesday and Thursday, VIP parking and access to the fully inclusive Business Lounge, where you can step away from the hustle and bustle, take a call, return an email or grab a bite to eat out of the chilly June weather. #fieldaysforbusiness #fieldaysnz #corporatebox

One of my favourite things is when a "they'll never go for this" idea comes off. After a year of looking at very specific agencyland topics I wanted to do something different with the Alliance of Independent Agencies commercial group* and they let me. Looking outwards, what can agency leaders learn from their counterparts in other people-based industries? Say a restaurant group; a record label or as is the case in this first session... a football club. Expect new approaches to solving familiar challenges. Sign up below #agencylife #footballbusiness #ceo *That or it's the most convoluted approach to sourcing discounts on dining, tunes and tickets ever - you decide.

I have managed dry January. It wasn’t intentional - it just happened. I feel proud to have done it. So here are 10 things I’ve learnt from doing dry Jan. 1. I’m not alcohol dependent and can switch it off anytime at my choice. 2. I’ve slept better, had better clarity of thought and have certainly felt healthier 3. I CAN avoid Soho House & Co for a whole month 4. Out of the 0.0 non-alcoholic beers out there, Peroni wins it hands down for me. 5. There are plenty of non alcoholic options and the events industry should probably consider this more 6. I have had to politely pass on a number of lovely invites (sorry) 7. There were plenty within the #meetingsandevents industry gave themselves a break - i feel 50% of the colleagues I spoke with. 8. It gave me greater focus on family which has been really important 9. It makes Chelsea FC dismal performance against L’pool tonight much harder to watch 10. I’m not committing to doing it every year 🤣
