Close Protection/ Assistant | Butler/ Driver Vacancies - A Recruitment Agency Obligation to Educate? From what appears to be an increasing presence, the advertising of roles where more than one hat is used for that same role, is this a professional approach in terms of the various industry employees to welcome in being employed in multi-hatted roles or is it merely the client aiming to cut costs in employing just one instead of two? In recent months, I applied for a role where the title/ JD of which was 'Close Protection/ Assistant/ Driver. I did so, not so much as to wholeheartedly gain that employment but out of curiosity to understand the mindset of the client. I subsequently met with the client and during the meeting proceeded to highlight the shortfalls of such an approach. The client initially believed that it was entirely possible for someone to be able to drive him to a location and then provide security to him at that location. Of course, it stands to reason the obvious issues with parking and leaving the vehicle whilst attempting to provide personal security not to mention all of the nuances and requirements associated with the delivery of proper and effective CP - it is of course impossible. Suffice to say, the client changed his mind in how he wanted to progress and settled for a PA... It raises the question of whether or not recruitment agencies should provide advice and guidance to prospective clients when such instructions are submitted. This would save time and cost for all parties concerned but would also go to some lengths in educating the client of what is feasible and what is not and what is actually practically impossible. From an entire security perspective, if a client wishes protection, whether for sole peace of mind/ generic threat or indeed, a real concern for being targeted for whatever reason, then that security provision MUST present itself as being fit for purpose and not influenced through cost saving measures or other. #closeprotection #executiveprotection #butler #driver #personalassistant
