As the Villars Intensive Program on Ecopreneurship (VIP-e) wraps up a fantastic week of learning and hands-on experience, we thank our young participants and guest lecturers who made the week in Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland so transformative. Throughout the program, the group was immersed in hands-on workshops and inspiring talks, gaining invaluable knowledge in systems thinking, leadership and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. Guided by renowned ecopreneurs Sofia de Meyer of Opaline™ and Sofi Khwaja-Horekens of Thesus™, the young participants explored practical cases in the food and fashion industries, crafted personal mission statements, and learned to communicate their visions and business plans authentically. Key highlights included: 🎯 Entrepreneurial Development: Building sustainable business concepts from scratch. 🎯 Full Immersion: Practical case studies and real-world ecopreneurship challenges. 🎯 Mastering Narratives: Crafting compelling stories to communicate personal missions. As the program concludes, we celebrate not just the insights gained but the brilliant community that has been formed – future leaders equipped to pioneer change in their respective fields. #Ecopreneurship #Sustainability #VIPe2024 #VillarsInstitute #EcoInnovation #SystemsThinking John Dutton Judith Ketelslegers John Horekens Marie-Claire Graf Tosca Olivi Guillaume Taylor Karen E. 🔔 Recap of Day 2 at the EIC Scaling Club Scale 100 Forum in Athens 🔔 What an incredible continuation! Day 2 was all about diving deeper into the key trends shaping the future of European innovation in the Energy, Climate, Health and Digital Sector. 🚀🌱 A major highlight was the company pitches, where we tackled pressing challenges in scaling. The conversations were not only insightful but actionable—exactly what’s needed to drive forward real change. We also had the chance to hear success stories from investors that have successfully navigated their portfolio companies through the hurdles of international growth. The Reverse Pitch Session also gives me the opportunity to present our activities and share experiences with the network. During the Corporate Partnerships session, we gained valuable insights into the challenges of collaboration between start-ups and large corporations. The energy in the room remained high, and the networking opportunities continued to foster meaningful connections. I’m leaving Athens with fresh ideas and valuable partnerships, ready to implement these learnings! 💡💬 #TOP100 #EICScalingClub #Athens #Innovation #Networking #Day2 #Growth #Entrepreneurship #Leadership #Sustainability #TechTour #EIB #EvonikVentureCapital

What an interesting discussion about business model innovation challenges related to implementation in established firms such as Bosch with Uwe Kirschner and startups such as the Nigerian AFEX with Sanne Steemers, as well as a masterful wrap-up from IBM's Edward Giesen! We had the pleasure of hosting Uwe, Sanne, and Edward during our Business Model Innovation course led by Christoph Zott, offering thought leadership and learning opportunities to the future changemakers and leaders at IESE Business School. If we develop entrepreneurial mindset, more business model innovations are in sight despite the current climate of uncertainty.

3 reasons I really enjoyed speaking to Antwerp Management School students of sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship last Monday. 1. It's always a useful exercise to explain your company in a few slides and a few words to people who (probably) have never heard of it before. 2. Students - especially these students - are the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. If our Pointerpro story can inspire only one person in the audience, it's already 100% worth my time. 3. I love presenting in the awesome spaces we have at dunden.

A truly great organization prospers over a long period of time, beyond any great idea, market opportunity, technology cycle, or well-funded program. When clobbered by setbacks, it finds a way to bounce back stronger than before. A great enterprise transcends dependence on any single extraordinary leader; if your organization cannot be great without you, then it is not yet truly great.
