This is how you create a social media marketing power team.
How would I build my ideal social media department? I'm glad you asked. Here are my immediate hires: → Video Creator: Short Video Specialist → Producer: Content Curator → Analyst: Performance Analyst → Performance: Ads Specialist → Community Manager: Engager → Social Support: Customer Support → Campaign: influencer, creator work → Employee Advocacy: Brand Promoter → Director: Strategy And the sprinkle on top would be to have dedicated platform specialists who know each channel like the back of their hand. But I guess the popular route is rolling it all into the single title of Social Media Manager, so whatever.

If you hire a social media manager expecting them to do market research and come up with brilliant content ideas, guess what? You're not hiring a social media manager; you're hiring a strategist, content creator, and creative director. And that's why social media management is no longer a role that’s an afterthought. Times have changed and it's time to understand that hiring a social media marketer is essential & you need to budget accordingly for their expertise. 🤗

Tell me you're a marketer. Without telling me... This made me 😂 Real talk moment: One of the hardest things as a content marketer? Showing up every day with new ideas. Saying the same thing. Over and over. In new ways. 📌 Friendly reminder for you Send some love to your content marketers. It's A LOT harder than it looks. Send them some props in Slack. Creatives are sensitive creatures. (Speaking from direct experience here) A quick "Thank you!!" goes a really long way. Especially when we're in the pit of creative despair. Kind words help us climb out. So we can make you more content. Now just book an appointment. I'm also tired of making content. ✌️ Props to the SMM at Charlie Ralph Clinic haha -- 👋 P.S. We're hiring a Creative Strategy at Motion (Creative Analytics) Come join the Motion marketing team!

I Help Coaches & Founders Boost Leads & MRR with High-Converting Content Strategies | Premier Content Marketing Strategist & Ghostwriter
The evolution of 'social media manager' mirrors the digital landscape itself, complex, multifaceted, and constantly shifting. It's no longer just about posting; it's about interpreting data, predicting trends, and crafting narratives that resonate across diverse platforms. Perhaps it's time we rebrand this role to 'Digital Ecosystem Architect' to truly reflect its scope and impact. Companies that recognize this shift and invest accordingly will find themselves with a competitive edge in the attention economy. The question is: are businesses ready to elevate social media from a line item to a cornerstone of their strategy?

Brilliant perspective. Always take into account the mechanics of the job role and not just a well thought out title.

Hear 👂 hear l What I like to explain to my clients before they hire me: my role as a marketing strategist is to come up with a plan and give the plan to the social media manager (and other managers that execute) to source content accordingly. Unfortunately some companies think they’re being smart and they’re saving money by hiring a SMM expecting them to do my job, but they do the opposite: waste money, exhaust resources and then blaim those same resources for their own failures. 🥹 Please don’t go cheap when it comes to marketing: a strategy and plan always comes before the execution and it’s paramount that you allogate your budget for that 🙌

Social Media Marketing Manager @ LetsShave | Social Media Strategist | Content Creation| UGC Creator
This couldn’t be more accurate! I’ve noticed that many companies/ individuals Blur the lines between a #socialmediamarketer, a #strategist, and a #contentwriter. These are completely different roles, each with its #expertise and #focus. Yet, they often get lumped together under "#socialmediamanagement." It's important to understand that while they all contribute to the bigger picture, each plays a #unique and essential part in the #success of any #digitalstrategy. Let's stop confusing these roles and start appreciating the #value each one brings! What's your point of view?
