🎉 From September to October: Celebrating Success and Embracing New Opportunities 🎉 As we step into October, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past month here at The Way Youth Zone. September was a whirlwind of activity, filled with both challenges and successes. 💡Highlights💡 Strengthening Support: We had the privilege of hosting two of our founder patrons, who further committed to supporting our vision and helping us to pave the way to a brighter future for the young people of Wolverhampton. Their visits were both inspiring and motivating.🤝✨ Collaboration Day: Attending the collaboration day for SHINE Academies was a fantastic opportunity to hear about their plans and forge new working partnerships with them. 🤝📚 New Opportunities: We tendered for a new finance provider, a crucial step towards ensuring our financial stability and growth. Bringing us into the 21st century with the latest technology to improve our finance systems and processes. 💼💡 Governance: Our board of trustees meeting was productive, with our new Chair, Edward Vitalis, taking the hot seat for the first time. I’m excited about the future! 🏛️👏 Hands-On Experience: I had the chance to cover one of our senior youth sessions one evening, which was a rewarding reminder of the direct impact of our work. 🙌👥 Site Visit: Visiting the site of another youth zone due to be built in Crewe was an exciting glimpse into the growth of the OnSide network. Looking forward to working more closely with fellow youth zone CEO Stuart Manifould🏗️🌟 Welcoming Leaders: We were honoured to welcome Department for Culture, Media and Sport and The National Lottery Community Fund, having the opportunity to highlight the importance of our work at a national level. 🇬🇧🎗️ Legacy Visit: Visiting Legacy Youth Zone, Croydon provided valuable insights and inspiration for our own sessions, projects, and staff development. Big thanks to Gavin Evans & Myke Catterall for your hospitality and warm welcome. 🏢💡 Personal Milestone: On a personal note, I celebrated my birthday, which was a wonderful moment of reflection and gratitude; with special mention to my partner Daniel Pritchard, who's support is unwavering.🎂❤️ ➡Looking Ahead➡ Supporters Event: In October, we are hosting our supporter’s event, “The Way to Thrive: Bright Beginnings Bash.” It’s set to be an exciting celebration, showcasing The Way in all its glory to supporters, both past, present, and future. Massive shout out to Lisa Carson & Clare Knowles for pulling this together🎉🎈 New Team Member: I’m thrilled to welcome our new Business Operations Manager who started today. His expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow and achieve our ambitious 4-year strategy. 👋🚀 As we move into October, with my Senior Leadership Team complete, I’m excited about the possibilities ahead and look forward to continuing this journey of growth and discovery. 🙌Here’s to new challenges and opportunities!🙌
