Lean Six Sigma Black Belt // I help business leaders reduce operating costs while building great workplace culture.
Engineering doesn't just enhance things -- it clears the path for them to be invented, designed, fabricated, and used in the world. It takes a village to make our world happen, and it doesn't happen by accident. Here's to all of us who identify as women and against all odds found ourselves in this profession. Here's to the difference we make every day just doing what we do. So often we accentuate the obstacles, the statistics, the problems, and the losses. I love that today is about celebrating the things that are going RIGHT -- for and because of the amazing women in engineering. I for one know a LOT of such people! Engineering makes the world go around. And you make engineering better by being a part of it. Well done you, today and everyday. 👏 👏 👏 Jane Wilson Paula Hutchison, P. Eng. Shattering Stereotypes; Women Thriving in Mining Industry Careers; Breaking Barriers Onsite. In the traditionally male-dominated realm of mining, women are increasingly making their mark, challenging stereotypes, and contributing to the industry's evolution. As we celebrate International Women's Day, it's fitting to shine a spotlight on the remarkable women who have chosen to forge careers on mine sites, breaking barriers and reshaping perceptions. The resilience and determination exhibited by women working on mine sites are noteworthy. Overcoming physical demands and prevailing stereotypes, these women play a crucial role in dispelling outdated beliefs about gender-specific capabilities. Their achievements inspire not only their peers but also future generations of women considering careers in the mining industry. Taking the opportunity of this day to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible teamwork that has defined our collaboration on the Skouries Site. Working alongside such a dedicated and talented group of individuals has been an inspiring journey, and I am genuinely thankful for each one of you, whether included in this photo or not. Let's celebrate the achievements of women working on mine sites and acknowledge the ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive, diverse, and welcoming environment. By breaking down barriers, fostering equality, and recognizing the invaluable contributions of women in mining, we pave the way for a brighter and more progressive future for the industry. Happy International Women's Day!

Happy International Women in Mining Day! Today, we celebrate the incredible women who are breaking barriers and making strides in the mining industry. From geologists to engineers, from operators to executives, women are shaping the future of mining with their skills, innovation, and leadership. Let’s acknowledge their achievements, support their journeys, and inspire the next generation of women to pursue careers in mining. Together, we can build a more inclusive and diverse industry that benefits everyone. We also want to take a moment to raise awareness about the importance of women’s safety in mine camps. Ensuring safe and respectful work environments is crucial for the well-being of women working in remote mining areas – especially Indigenous women and women of color. Addressing these concerns through policies and practices that promote safety and respect is essential for fostering a more inclusive industry. Join us in honoring the women who dig deep and shine bright! #WomenInMining #InternationalWomenInMiningDay #WomenInLeadership #DiversityAndInclusion #WomenEmpowerment

The International Day of Women in Mining is more than just a day or an event - it is a global call to action! This annual campaign underscores the importance of gender diversity, equity, and inclusion in the mining sector, highlighting the contributions of all who identify as women and the need for a more inclusive industry. This year’s theme ‘I am mining and I belong’ calls on all of us to reflect on what belonging in mining means to each of us and how we can reinforce it every day. Belonging goes beyond mere representation; it encompasses feeling valued, respected, and integral to the industry's success. It’s about ensuring that every voice is heard, every talent is recognised, and every individual feels a sense of ownership and pride in their work. Reflect on the dialogues we can initiate and sustain in our workplaces to nurture a more inclusive environment. These conversations are vital in breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, and fostering a culture of acceptance and support. Whether through formal discussions, casual conversations, or structured programmes, we have the power to drive change from within. Consider the concrete actions and behaviours we can pledge to adopt. This might include mentoring programmes, diversity training sessions, inclusive hiring practices, and creating safe spaces for open dialogue. Small, consistent actions can lead to significant change over time. For example, we can make a conscious effort to include diverse perspectives in decision-making processes, recognise and celebrate the achievements of all employees, and provide equal opportunities for career advancement. What actions or behaviours are you pledging to adopt after today to make this vision a reality? Perhaps you will commit to mentoring a young woman in mining, advocating for policy changes within your organisation, or simply being a more active ally. Every action counts, and together, we can create a ripple effect that transforms the industry. By embracing diversity and fostering a culture of belonging, we not only enhance our workplaces but also drive innovation, productivity, and overall success. Together, we can make a significant impact and ensure that the mining industry is a place where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive and feel that they truly belong. #IDWIM #IDWIM2024 #InternationalDayofWomeninMining #IAmMiningAndIBelong #IAmMining #SoyMinería #JeSuisLactivitéMinière #SouMineração #WomenInMining #MiningIndustry
