[🌐Global News] Day four in Davos! Yesterday, our CEO, Denis Machuel, joined global leaders to tackle pressing challenges in the world of work, from technological disruption to climate change and demographic shifts—issues that call for urgent and collective action. Today, we’re excited to share key insights from the WEF panel discussion: ‘Closing the Jobs Gap’. 🔑 Key takeaways from the discussion: ➖ Workforce Challenges: With 60% of workers in informal sectors and many facing misclassification, gaps in social protection are widening. This contributes to rising inequality and economic insecurity. ➖The Role of AI: AI offers immense potential but also presents challenges. Inclusive policies, continuous learning, and strategic workforce planning are vital to ensure no one is left behind. ➖Collaboration is Key: Governments, companies, and trade unions must work together to address skill mismatches, align education with market needs, and create sustainable employment pathways. Denis emphasises, “businesses need to become more anticipative. It’s time for businesses to consider people, not as a cost, but as assets, and invest in the workforce”. At the Adecco Group, we are proud to contribute through innovative talent solutions, partnership and collaborations. Together, we can create an inclusive and sustainable future of work – making the future work for everyone. Well the final full day at WEF was a day of two halves! We woke up to a snowy Davos without much visibility, but we ended with blue skies and new horizons! The morning was spent meeting more clients with further discussions on Data Centres and investing in AI. Importantly, the people aspect remains a key focus in these conversations. One of my favourite sayings from Davos has been: “AI can’t lead change, that is your job.” This reminds us all that the human element is central to everything that we do and so much of our journey going forward is about adopting and adapting to the exciting world ahead. We had more conversations with CEOs about Data Centres, the importance of the office and the growth of manufacturing. Speaking of growth, my afternoon was more focused on policy change and economic growth agendas. I was very kindly hosted by PwC for a lunch with Chancellor Rachel Reeves, The Rt Hon Jonathan Reynolds MP, Minister of Business and Trade and Energy, Sarah Jones MP and Christoper M Hayward, City of London. A discussion focused on “Team GB” and driving growth in the UK. Thank you to Jon Holt, KPMG and Rain Newton-Smith, Chief Exec of the CBI for hosting the event. The day ended with a special address newly inaugurated US President Donald Trump, who gave an overview of his short time in office – we were on day 4! A lot of change ahead, but there is a clear focus on growth in the US. The implications of many of these changes are yet to be realized, but I hope we maintain a healthy balance of growth, sustainability and equality through the coming months ahead. Key Messages from WEF on Day 4: Leaders need to “pull together” – Global cooperation and security has to be a priority. Projections are not destiny – multiple factors but also risks will shape the global economy Humans are going to have better tools – ensuring that workforces of the future are prepared and able to take advantage of all that AI offers will be essential “Urgency is our only saviour” – tackling climate change and building new energy systems – a very sobering message from Jane Goodall, who said: “Isn’t is ridiculous that we are destroying the only home that we have?” An incredible couple of days that have opened up clear opportunities but with a needed eye on balancing growth and macro-economic agendas across the world.

🌍 Shaping the Future Together: Davos 2025 The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting is the premier platform for global leaders to address our shared challenges. From January 20 to 24, 2025, Davos will host conversations centered around “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age” and five key priorities. Among these priorities, Investing in People stands out as a call to action. 🌟 Technological advancements are transforming employment, skills, and public services—shaping everything from wealth distribution to healthcare and education. While nearly 40% of global jobs are exposed to AI, this shift is largely about augmentation rather than replacement. The digital and service economies are already driving strong job creation, offering opportunities in emerging fields higher up the value chain. The urgency to reskill and upskill the workforce has never been greater. Millions of new roles are on the horizon, but success will depend on how well we prepare people to meet these demands. The public and private sectors must invest in human capital to build a modern, resilient society where technological gains translate into net-positive results for all. Through collaboration across sectors, we can find common solutions and take decisive action. The World Economic Forum, through its Centres, continues to integrate public-private efforts to achieve greater impact and ensure a better future for everyone. #WEF #Davos2025 #InvestingInPeople #CollaborationForTheIntelligentAge

Even the snow in Davos can’t cover the geopolitical tensions we’re facing - and I am sure they will dominate most of the discussions at this year’s Annual Meeting. While, on its first day, Davos looks as busy as ever, I am excited to find out how the mood has changed and what people make of the broader recalibration we’re facing. From my experience of the last years, the bigger the challenges, the bolder the solutions discussed here in the Swiss mountains. Yes - now is not the time to scale down on collaboration and partnerships, but to work even closer together than before. If you have big ambitions, this is the right moment to make them happen. If the “intelligent age” is ever to become a reality, we need companies across sectors to collaborate on all levels to transform entire industries with physical and agentic AI. And we need them to invest in building trust just as much as in technology. That's also what I've talked about to Andreas Kohli from SRF - Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen this afternoon - stay tuned for more. And it's not just about businesses and their innovation agenda - we will also have to redefine how the state can create the right environment for bold investments in new technologies and boost rapid innovation. Regulation can be both - a powerful tool for giving companies a competitive advantage, but it can also set the wrong priorities and prevent them from investing in innovation. We need to find the best way. I am looking forward to many good conversations and a lot of food for thought in the coming days. Let me know if you’re around! #WEF25 #Accenture

Economic Signals Are Mixed The market outlook shows complexity: - Strong growth potential ahead - But inflation risks from new tariffs - Interest rates could stay elevated - Weaker borrowers need to prepare 3. Jobs Are Transforming, Not Disappearing WEF's Future of Jobs Report reveals surprising trends: - +35M new farming jobs by 2030 - +10M delivery drivers needed - +7M software developers required - -18M traditional roles declining 4. Human Elements Matter More Than Ever Workplace dynamics are evolving: - 80% trust in management - Flexibility is essential - Values alignment drives retention - Community builds productivity 5. It’s that time of year again to bring out the snow boots 🥾 and woolly hats 🧣, prepare for 20,000 steps a day 🚶♂️, and the craziness of Davos! On the first day, one of the chairpersons I spoke with highlighted how, within the 48 hours, “it’s possible to quickly get a finger on the pulse on sentiment and the key challenges the world is facing.” I'm expecting 4 key topics for #consumergoods and #retail leaders but I look forward to discussing these and others this week Geopolitics 🌍: With the Trump inauguration running at the same time as the official opening of Davos, this set the tone that geopolitics will be higher than ever on the agenda. AI 🤖: AI definitely dominated last year but there was a definite AI fatigue by the end of the week. I suspect that this year will be more balanced but also a higher lens on the impact it can drive and the structural implications for companies rather than the use cases Talent Strategies and Workforce Management 👩💼👨💼: How are organizations redefining the workforce to promote greater flexibility? What new talent profiles are needed to meet future demands? Sustainability 🌱: The topic has been less central in recent years but with many planetary boundaries being broken it's critical for this topic to return to the spotlight with not just words but also action. If you’re also at Davos and would like to connect, please feel free to reach out so we can meet up at the great Kearney Glass House, located opposite the Congress Centre! #worldeconomicforum #davos #kearney

Now is the time to strengthen collaboration and partnerships. If you have big ambitions, this is the moment to make them happen. For the "intelligent age" to become a reality, companies must collaborate on all levels to transform industries with physical and agentic AI, and invest in building trust as much as in technology.
