As Men’s Health Awareness Month comes to a close, it’s crucial to remember that the conversation around men’s health doesn’t end here. 🧡 Did you know that in the UK, men are three times more likely to not reach out for mental health support when they need it? Additionally, the Mental Health Foundation highlights that men are less likely to access psychological therapies, with only 36% of referrals to NHS talking therapies being for men. Physical health is equally important. Statistics show that men are more prone to heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. Public Health UK reports that heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, accounting for 1 in every 4 male deaths. Let's change this narrative. 🌟 To all the men reading this – your health matters. Don’t hesitate to reach out, seek help, and prioritise your wellbeing. #MensHealth #MensHealthAwareness #MentalHealth #PhysicalHealth #Wellbeing #Support

Pollution decreases blood flow to the brain and raises the risk of mental health disorders: 1️⃣ Personality disorder is 162% more likely if you live in areas with bad air quality 2️⃣ Schizophrenia is 148% more likely 3️⃣ Bipolar disorder is 54% more likely 4️⃣ Depression is 51% more likely. This means that mental health conditions will only continue to rise with the increase in natural disasters and impact of industrialisation on our environment. Our most vulnerable populations are at risk of becoming even more unwell. Have a read of my blog to explore more. Big thanks to Elisabeth G. for the incredible photography and driving the resilience agenda. #healthequity #climatechange #mentalhealth #socialdeterminants #socialdeterminantsofhealth #airquality #pollution
