Are your organisation’s practices backfiring? According to Forbes, there’s a lot of quiet action taking place under the radar in today’s business world. Quiet culture workplace trends—such as quiet firing, quiet quitting and quiet hiring—were intended to assuage the immediate and acute needs of businesses. Instead, they have backfired—creating suspicion, mistrust and low morale. Now, another controversial quiet trend is stirring up conversations in the corporate world. The practice of “quiet cutting” is an old practice with a new name. It involves employers reassigning workers to new roles in hopes they will eventually quit so the company saves the cost of severance. Read more here… #leadership #business #hr

Valuing Your People: The Recipe for Retaining Top Talent in a Competitive Market The war for talent is fiercer than ever. Today's competitive job market demands more than just a hefty paycheck to secure and retain top performers. Studies consistently show a concerning trend, toxic workplace cultures are a major culprit behind employee turnover. Dissatisfied and undervalued workers, regardless of their salary, are more likely to seek greener pastures. My experience aligns with this data. Cultivating a healthy and respectful work environment, where every voice is heard and valued, is an absolute priority. This collaborative atmosphere goes beyond boosting morale. It fosters impactful decision-making and fuels increased productivity. Employees feel empowered to contribute their unique perspectives, leading to better outcomes for everyone. While compensation certainly plays a role, true employee retention hinges on deeper elements. It's about fostering genuine respect, acknowledgment, and a shared commitment to mutual growth. When you believe in your people and invest in their potential, you witness them flourish. They become not just employees, but valued contributors with a vested interest in the organization's success. This sense of belonging is key to retaining your top talent. By making them feel valued members of the team, you create a win-win situation. Let's move beyond simply surviving at work. Let's build thriving workplaces where employees feel empowered to excel. Remember, your employees are your organization's strongest assets. Treat them as such, and watch your business reap the rewards of a loyal and engaged workforce. #WorkplaceCulture #CompanyCulture #JobMarket #TalentShortage

The pressure on hiring managers and #leaders at all levels, including CEOs, to deliver results is immense. I get that. I've been a hiring manager. But amidst the chase for profitability, it's all too easy for the #workforce—the heart of any #organization—to be viewed merely as cogs in a machine. However, there's a tremendous need for a shift from seeing #employees as numbers or resources to acknowledging them as human beings. This shift is not just a moral imperative; it's a strategic one with the potential to redefine workplace #culture, engagement, and success. Why Seeing Employees as Humans is Critical: 💫Treating employees as individuals with unique needs, aspirations, and challenges fosters a #work environment filled with positivity and inclusivity. This atmosphere is conducive to happiness, satisfaction, and mental well-being. When people feel valued for who they are, the workplace becomes a source of support and growth. 💫There's a direct link between how valued employees feel and their engagement levels. When leaders show genuine care and respect, employees are more motivated and committed. This translates into increased productivity and innovation. 💫A company's character can be a significant differentiator for potential hires. Talented individuals are looking for workplaces that respect and care about their employees. Companies can attract and retain top #talent by prioritizing human-centric policies and practices. 💫A shift towards valuing individuals encourages a broader perspective on #hiring, one that goes beyond #resumes. This approach opens the door to a more diverse talent pool, embracing varied #experiences, backgrounds, and ways of thinking. 💫A workforce that feels seen, heard, and valued is likelier to share ideas and take risks. Innovation thrives in environments where diverse perspectives are welcomed, and failure is seen as a step towards learning and growth. 💫Recognizing employees as people—with lives, families, and external pressures—allows for policies and practices that support work-life balance and mental health. 💫Moving to a relational model strengthens the connections between individuals and #teams. Collaboration and trust flourish when mutual respect and understanding grow, leading to more cohesive and resilient teams. 💫The way a company treats its employees does not go unnoticed. A reputation for fairness, compassion, and respect attracts not only talent but also customers and partners. The need to view and treat employees as human beings first is not just about enhancing productivity or profitability. It's about recognizing the dignity and worth of every individual who chooses to dedicate a significant portion of their life to an organization. Fostering a culture of care, compassion, understanding, and respect can help companies create a more fulfilling, #innovative, and sustainable path to #success. In my professional opinion, this shift is essential for the future of work.

Nearly all business leaders say that attracting talent is their number one priority in 2024, but a majority are also concerned about losing the great workers that they already have. Around 81% of business executives say they’re concerned about losing top performers who are unengaged, according to a 2024 survey from Guild. There are two reasons why high-achieving employees are feeling that way, according to Bijal Shah, interim CEO of Guild. As companies cut costs, overworked and underserved employees can start to feel disconnected from the company’s mission or fail to see possibilities for their own internal career growth. Without a connection to their workplace or any hope of upward mobility, top performers are more likely to leave their positions. Bosses are also consolidating work among fewer employees, which may be contributing to their sense of disconnect. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gsKm5gi7
