Supply and Demand Planning Lead | Consumer Electronics. | Supply Chain Excellent I Strategic Procurement Mgt. I Supply Chain Analytics / Optimization. I Pharmaceutical Supply Chain. I Solar Energy.
Greetings, LinkedIn family. I noticed a lot of comments made by individuals who jumped to conclusions without conducting their own research when they learned that Diageo, the parent company of Guinness Nigeria, had sold a majority stake to Toralam Nigeria. It forced me to think carefully and conduct research, and these are the conclusions I came to, which are now backed up by the article below by David Olujinmi of Nariametrics. My analysis of the Guinness Nigeria - Toralam deal: - Just like it is doing in NGX, Guinness Nigeria shares will keep rising. - A lower cost of distribution for Guinness Nigeria due to Toralam's wide distribution network. - A larger Guinness Nigeria product footprint. - Greatly Improved Supply chain management system (There will be an increased activities in Supply and demand planning, Distribution mgt, Production and Material planning etc) - Last but not least, Guinness Nigeria plans to increase its bullishness in the beer, spirit, and wine markets. (Remember what I wrote on the acquisition of Distell Nigeria by Nigerian Breweries Plc?).The battle for market share has just heated up. Because, Nigerian Breweries Plc, International Breweries Plc, and Guinness Nigeria Plc are the three largest breweries in terms of market share and revenue size. Below is a very interesting read by David Olujinmi. https://lnkd.in/dmkA7RJ7

I am pregnant 😘 Ready to give birth to a leading Lager Beer Brand in the Nigeria Market. Areas of strength; 1. Support Trophy Lager to lead across all regions in Nigeria. 2. Revive 33" Export Lager to become the market leader in volume and in profit. 3. Support Guiness Nigeria PLC to launch a leading beer brand. 4. Work with an INVESTOR to establish a leading beer brand in the Nigeria market. Achievements: ✅I am a part of the key players (Role: Demand Planner and Commercial Performance Manager) that grew Trophy Lager from 120khl per month in 2015 to an outstanding 280khl per month in 2018. ✅In 2017 Q2, we identified Trophy Lager growth opportunity in Lagos market and also designed a supply model from the Portharcourt plant to fulfill sales orders, amidst limited production capacity. The outcome of this project led to the quick establishment of the Gateway Brewery at Sagamu. ✅In 2018, my team designed retailers order placement and assortment application with the aim of not missing out any sale. ✅In 2013/2014, my team championed 33" Export Lager market share recovery sales operations in the Southwest market (Ibadan and Osun State territories) by winning back the major distributors and Tier 1,2,3 retail outlets which increased 33" Export Lager table counts at the POC. ✅We have designed a model (yet to be launched) that will support the industry to have direct access to the consumers, for easy communication on promotions, pricing and quality checks. In my recent market research, there seems to be a lot of adulterated products in the market which is harmful to health and also a short-change to the businesses. We have built a model that will checkmate all these gaps and the model have additional features that will drive a 60% market share win for any brand that plays the book. Helps in balancing the import-export trade numbers, if the Ugandan bottler can export into Kenya finished product competitvely. Interesting to see how it puns out.
After successfully winning back lost market share to Coca-Cola in Uganda, Crown Beverages owners, Amos Nzeyi, Chris Kayoboke and Dr. Maggie Kigozi are taking the battle to Coca-Cola on the Kenyan market. But it surely is about to get so fizzy as Coca-Cola controls about 93.9% market share and Pepsi, a tiny 1.5%. There will be a lot of learning from the Ugandan playbook. https://lnkd.in/dDS-f7qh

IS GUINNESS NIGERIA trully leaving Nigeria? Guinness is not leaving Nigeria. Diageo, the parent company of Guinness, is selling its 58.02% stake in Guinness Nigeria to Tolaram, but Diageo will retain ownership of the Guinness brand and license it to Guinness Nigeria for long-term production and distribution. Under the new partnership, Guinness Nigeria will continue to operate under the stewardship of Tolaram, with Diageo retaining ownership of the Guinness brand. This arrangement will enable the company to leverage Tolaram's manufacturing and distribution expertise while maintaining Diageo's brand-building and innovation capabilities. Guinness Nigeria will remain listed on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd, and Tolaram intends to launch a mandatory takeover offer in compliance with local law requirements. It's high time some online miscreants and disgruntled elements stop spreading half-baked and unsubstantiated news, all with the aim of pulling down a government.

Diageo's sale of its 58% stake in Guinness Nigeria to Tolaram for $70 million signals a retreat from the Nigerian market amidst economic challenges. The sale, combined with the retention of marketing strategy leadership for Guinness brands, suggests a desire to maintain brand presence without fully committing to the market. This move may be a strategic response to Nigeria's harsh economic realities, including a 33% inflation rate, but it also raises questions about the future of the Guinness brand in Nigeria and the impact on local employees. #GuinnessNigeria #Diageo #Tolaram #NigerianEconomy #Inflation #BeerMarket #BusinessStrategy https://lnkd.in/eJfSKHsC

Productive and exciting: how our team visited partner pizzerias in Nigeria🇳🇬 In March, the Dodo Brands team, represented by business developer Aleksandra Mironova, Head of International Marketing Karina Fakhrutdinova and, International R&D manager Timofei Gorban visited our pizzerias in Nigeria. It was a long-awaited trip because Nigeria is now one of the fastest-growing markets and full of prospects. The team managed to do a lot during their stay: ✅ Conducted operational checks and found out that the pizzeria teams are doing a great job; ✅ Led a joint brainstorm on marketing and outlined a further action plan; ✅ Developed and implemented blind tests of a new, but still secret product on the menu! And, of course, they tried the pizza (by the way, do you know about Dodo pizza with plantain?), took pictures and had a great time: The photo report from the guys is a must see! This is our first post in a series of posts about Nigeria #Dodo_in_Nigeria, and there are a lot of interesting things ahead. Stay tuned! #DodoPizza #BusinessDevelopment #MarketExploration #FranchiseExperience #TeamCollaboration

The fallout from #Nigeria's business climate continues with #Diageo announcing it will sell 58% of its #Guinness #Nigeria business. The company, which put down roots in 1950, joins an exodus of multinational companies leaving the harsh operating environment. The good news is that the business has been bought by #Singaporean company #Tolaram that already has deep roots in the country. Swings and roundabouts, although the optics of a #disinvestment are never good for a country.
