Plastic pyrolysis, which involves heating plastics without oxygen to break them down into smaller molecules, has been suggested as a potential solution to plastic waste. However, several factors have hindered its widespread adoption. Firstly, the process can be costly and energy-intensive, limiting its feasibility for large-scale implementation. Secondly, the quality of the resulting products can be inconsistent and may not be suitable for all applications. Thirdly, there are environmental concerns, including the potential emission of harmful pollutants. Lastly, regulatory and political obstacles can make it challenging to implement pyrolysis on a large scale. Let's focus on real, sustainable solutions to tackle plastic pollution. #plasticfreejuly #falsesolutionsexposed #SustainableLiving #zerowaste #reuserevolution #GoForZeroWaste #breakfreefromplastic

Plastic waste is very durable and can exist in our environment for many centuries. Individuals, groups and governments should colaborate to manage and recycle plastic materials. A waste segregation practise is the need of the hour for developing nation like ours. Lets join hands and efforts to bring in the desired environmental changes. #plasticfree #plasticfreeliving #cleanenvironment

The journey of #PlasticWaste from land to sea is a complex and interconnected process. Improper disposal, inadequate waste management infrastructure, and the inherent resilience of plastic contribute to its widespread dispersion. Rivers often act as conduits, carrying plastic debris from inland areas to coastal regions and, ultimately, into the open ocean. The accumulation of #plastic in these water bodies exacerbates the global crisis, demanding a multi-faceted approach to tackle the problem at its roots. In this Arowana Impact Capital 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, we break down the different implications of the plastic waste crisis on people and the environment, as well as what we can all do to address them. Every year, the world produces and consumes around 430 million tonnes of plastic, two thirds of which are short-lived products which soon become waste. Without urgent action that figure will rise three-fold by 2060, with devastating impacts for ecosystems and human health. It is therefore time to #BeatPlasticPollution by eliminating unnecessary single-use plastic products, redesigning products so they can be reused, repurposed, repaired and recycled, switching to non-plastic substitutes when possible, and strengthening systems for sound waste management. #recycle #plasticpollution #oceanconservation #SDG

Did you know that plastic waste poses a significant threat to our #water resources? #Plastics find their way into our water systems through various means, including direct disposal into waterways and through sewage or industrial wastewater. Persistent plastic particles are generated by multiple sectors, particularly in packaging, building and construction. Together with #nanoplastics, which can penetrate cells and disrupt cellular functions, their presence in the #environment raises serious concerns. The responsible disposal of microplastics and pollutants is a shared #responsibility. On this Earth Day, let’s come together to #reduce plastic waste, ensure cleaner rivers and seas, and #protect the precious ecosystems that depend on them. #EarthDay2024 #EarthDay #PlanetVsPlastic #Sustainability #ReducePlasticWaste #ProtectOurEarth

Plastic production has skyrocketed from 2 million tons in 1950 to a staggering 431 million tons in 2019. In that same year, 353 million tons of plastic waste were generated globally. Of this, around 82 million tons of plastic waste are mismanaged every year, with 13 million tons entering the terrestrial environment and 5.8 million tons polluting our rivers. #PlasticPollution #ClimateChange #Sustainability #SaveOurPlanet #ReduceReuseRecycle
