Earlier this year, we were able to reunite a teenage girl with her family after a trafficker preyed on her mental health struggles. When depression and anxiety erode your sense of worthiness, it can be impossible to feel that you deserve protection. The thought process can sound like: “it doesn’t matter what happens to me. My life, my body, are worthless anyway.” That kind of mindset may have made Alana (not her real name) look extra vulnerable to the predatory man who found her. He successfully led her far from her home in Brazil, trapping her in an abandoned house in Paraguay. In the darkness of that old building so far from her family, reality seemed to confirm what Alana had always suspected: she was worthless, only there to be used. But her parents refused to accept that. Because Alana’s parents reached out to law enforcement and The Exodus Road’s teams were able to step in and help, this teenager is now safely home. The moment her parents embraced her was a powerful reminder: every child deserves safety. Will you help us support law enforcement as they continue searching for girls like Alana? Get involved:

Today is #MentalHealth Day. This year’s theme, ‘Mental Health at Work,’ reminds us of the critical importance of safe, healthy environments for mental well-being. Unhealthy conditions — like exposure to risks, harassment and human suffering — can significantly impact mental health. For those working in refugee and migrant solidarity, the emotional toll can be immense. In response, we developed Psychosocial Resources for Refugee and Migrant Solidarity Responders, in partnership with ActionAid Hellas, CESIE ETS, and . These resources are designed to help build resilient practices and cultures within responder networks and organisations, addressing both the trauma witnessed and the profound courage of those who survive. We invite you to explore and use these resources in your work. Together, we can nurture sustainable ecosystems of care and ensure responders are supported in their essential tasks. Many studies already show that migrants usually have worse mental health and experience more challenges than natives of the host country. This study showed the same results, and also suggested that this may come from feeling discriminated against and lack social integration for the migrants. Do you agree ?? "In the midst of the Palestine-Israel conflict, it's important to remember that it's not just a bilateral problem. The effects reach far and wide, touching people in different ways around the world. From financial strain on Americans to mental health struggles and a loss of faith in international law, the impact is felt by many. This conflict affects people globally, causing suffering and a sense of injustice. It's crucial to acknowledge these broader consequences and work towards a fair and lasting solution. #stopgenocideingaza #ceasfirenow #internationallaw #humanrightslaw

When you are loyal and honest, with a 15-year track record, even if you face challenges, no one can say you didn't follow through, follow up, or keep your word. Sometimes, people forget just how far I'll go to make sure "it happens." It's second nature to me. You don't speak unless you mean it, and you don't act unless you're ready to face the consequences ( Good and Bad ). As the topic of "Social Media Harm Reduction" becomes an instrument for influencing societal changes in various countries, it's crucial to understand what that truly means from a non-American perspective. The term "Social Media Diplomat," advocating for "Social Media Diplomacy," is specific to this concept, and that's exactly what we're doing. One day, I hope to make it an official term by working with ambassadors and foreign stakeholders. We've made strides in Europe, Australia, Africa, North and South America, and Asia. This isn't just about "me," it's about "us." The current movement is "non-traditional," but what is non-traditional now will become traditional in the next 10-20 years, or sooner. Just watch and witness. We teach and help expand the cause; we are not competing. It's actions versus words. https://lnkd.in/dj39iuQQ <——— The Global Standard
