To top it off, we’ll enjoy a musical performance from David Zach of Remedy Drive, who has been a fierce advocate for The Exodus Road from the beginning. Time’s almost up! You have just a week to get your ticket to join us for Declassified in Colorado Springs. The Exodus Road has spent over a decade investigating and combating human traff*cking crime. During those years, we have directly participated in freedom for more than 2,600 men, women, and children. Every single survivor of trafficking that we have supported has a story. Because of time and security constraints, only a handful of those stories have been released to the public. Until now. In this exclusive immersive storytelling event, both lead investigators and survivors will share previously untold stories — and you get to be one of the few people in the room to hear from them! The teenagers and young women were living in cramped and squalid conditions. In their few hours of stolen rest, they slept three to a mattress. They never had enough food. The haze of malnutrition and psychoactive substances made it hard to envision any life beyond the work they were forced to show up for, day after day.  That work took place at three br*thels tucked away in a rural landscape just outside a small town in Latin America. The sparsely-populated space made it easy to hide terrible abuse. For three of the teenagers, the exploitation was an intimately personal betrayal: they were being traff*cked by their older sister, a leader in the trafficking network.  The Exodus Road received a tip about these sisters. They knew they had to act. They found the sisters, confirming that at 15, 16, and 17 years of age, they were being sold for s*x by their older sister and her accomplices. They also found over 30 more girls and young women, all of them similarly exploited and abused.  Law enforcement took that evidence and acted. They freed the survivors, more than half of whom were younger than 18. Police arrested the woman who had traff*cked her vulnerable younger sisters, taking an additional two accomplices into custody.  These young women are receiving aftercare from the government. Because of The Exodus Road’s community, they have space to begin healing. Thank you for being a part of making safety possible for them!

When we gather to celebrate stories of freedom in Colorado on October 17th, our musical guest will be a voice much of our community will recognize. David Zach of Remedy Drive has done more than write songs about the anti-traff*cking work we’ve been doing around the world for over a decade. He’s also actively participated in that work as an undercover investigator. David has collected a wealth of stories and songs from this fight. His most recent album, Scars to Prove It, is a collection of songs born from what he’s found in even the world’s most painful places: hope. Get your ticket to hear some of David Zach’s songs and stories!

We’re here: the peak of Freedom Summit! Today we look back over a month of incredible challenges, personalized feats of skill and passion that have raised awareness and funds for the work of fighting human traff*cking. As we come to the end of this month of advocacy, we hope you know that you’re leaving the world better than you found it at the beginning of September. As one survivor of s*x traff*cking whom The Exodus Road supported said, “I get to think, ‘what is next for me?’ I’m so thankful to be free to think that.” More survivors will be able to think that way because of your commitment to this cause. Thank you!
