Two weeks ago we had the privilege of gathering leaders from across Easy Step Enterprises’ 34 locations and Store Support Center to learn, celebrate, connect, and have a little fun in our Champions Unite Leadership Summit. We had the opportunity to hear Dr. Toni Harris share her story and challenge us to consider the biases we bring into relationship with others that prevent the unity we need as a team. The next day we got a little out of our comfort zone and learned about connecting with others with improv led by Meridith Grundei ✨ and our very own Jeff Jenkins. We are so thankful to have such an incredible group of people leading our stores and Store Support Center. These leaders are at the center of how we achieve our mission of “helping our community live an active and healthy lifestyle, one step at a time.” Additionally, thank you to Perris Jones for sharing his inspiring story!

One of the greatest privileges of my job is supporting other leaders as we grow together. As a principal, I am making sure I prioritise taking time for us to think, learn, and discuss our leadership journey. Transitioning from being the one who drives action to supporting others is a complex process. Drawing inspiration from Simon Sinek's work on leadership and the need to intentionally develop our skills, we engage in reading, discussing key leadership issues, sharing ideas, and reflecting on the why, the how, the successes and the challenges of our roles. In a busy week, carving out time for these discussions isn't simple, but it is instrumental in leading with a clear purpose, aligning our vision, systems, capabilities, and culture, and fostering trust and collaboration among us.
