Having a community behind you can be SO powerful. There’s something that changes when we step away from the “me” mindset and grow into the “us” mindset. We feel more confident, we feel more sure of our direction, and we go further. It was incredible to hear about all of the transformations that this cohort of the #DesignYourClimateCareer went through during yesterday’s Ask Me Anything with program graduates, but I think my favorite stories were about the impact that joining the Voiz Academy community has had on our participants.  Martina shared: “Having that support system, a network to lean on, and access to sounding boards was invaluable. Reading everyone's introductions from around the world and being able to reach out, even if we weren't in the same program, created connections. There was such a wealth of knowledge-sharing and activity, and it felt like we were all in it together, supporting each other every step of the way. I cannot agree more with Trish Kenlon. Pivoting into a new career can be challenging. Pivoting into a climate career alone can be overwhelming. Over the course of the 8 weeks in the Design your Climate Career, I was impressed with the genuine support and encouragement everyone gave each other. I also witnessed the mindset transformation to empowered career navigator. Trish Kenlon's toolkit track is a gamechanger that gives you the tools needed for a successful job search. What have we learnt in 2023? That things sometimes turn out differently than planned. That flexibility and a willingness to change are therefore increasingly important. And, what's more, that life is not a competition. In an age of faster, higher, further, we need to pause for a moment so as not to lose focus. Sometimes it also helps to take a step back and change your perspective in order to recognise new opportunities and possibilities. And 2023 had a few of these to offer.
