🌟 Exciting times at Foundation 29! 🌟 The Foundation 29 team had the privilege of visiting the Barcelona Children's Hospital Sant Joan de Déu this week, where we are collaborating to co-create a revolutionary tool for generating detailed, comprehensible reports for families receiving a disease diagnosis. Watching geneticists and tech experts come together to develop solutions was exhilarating! The synergy between these brilliant minds is set to have a tremendous impact on how patients and their families understand their conditions and their underlying causes. What truly stood out to me was the focus of our efforts—not just on the technology or the tool (though we definitely had our moments of tech-geeking out! 😄), but on enhancing the PATIENT EXPERIENCE. It's clear to me that AI won't be replacing health professionals anytime soon. The role of a seasoned professional in reviewing results and supporting patients through understanding their diagnosis is irreplaceable. Compassion and empathy are at the heart of patient care and must always accompany the incredible advancements we're making with technology. Last week, a select group from our team had the privilege of participating in #cnssummit2023 held in Boston, where they highlighted the impactful role of spencer® in streamlining #clinicaltrials and advancing the search for treatments for neurological disorders and diseases. Not only did our team showcase spencer®, but they also observed the key trends shaping this dynamic sphere. Here, we share some insightful takeaways from our Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Erica Smith. ⭐ Technology adoption in our daily lives has outpaced tech adoption in clinical trials. In addition, clinical trial tech is still too fragmented, as in there are too many apps that don’t speak to each other. In order to accelerate tech implementation, patient focus and integrability is paramount. ⭐ Patient engagement means different things to different people – and to different technologies. In light of the disparities, we assert that patient engagement with tech must rely on continuous patient touch points that are passive from the perspective of the patient.
