The KEITH Geospatial team is adept at obtaining special COA's to safely fly UAS in restricted airspace. In this this case, our UAS team coordinated closely with officials at the FAA and TPA to efficiently perform this aerial collection in close proximity to runway 1R 19L with minimal impacts to airfield operations. Using a combination of aerial LiDAR and Photogrammetry, KEITH was able to model the intricate tanks and all the subsequent pipes, valves and force mains for this fuel facility. Please reach out to Sam Hall, PSM, PLS - Shall@keithteam.com for any inquiry.

Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) are a tool used to help capture remote sensing data of an area. They are a great and accessible way for an aerial machine to get imaging or data points of a small area of the Earth’s surface without having to touch down, making it very useful for difficult to traverse or dangerous areas. Traditional ground-based surveys are often purpose-driven...the crews are there to get specific data for a specific reason to maximize cost/efficiency. Dense airborne LiDAR can be used for MANY purposes with a single dataset. And, you don't have to send out crews a second/third time to get that data you may have missed the first time! Simultaneous topo & PLS-CADD survey below as an example!

The missing link https://lnkd.in/d2iNyzw3 In our book chapter our author Sebastian Kauczok has, to the best of our knowledge, for the first time placed the complementary detection capabilities of radar and lidar in a common theoretical context and, in particular, pointed out possible gaps that could be dangerous for turbulence warning at airports

So what is Topobathymetric lidar survey? Topobathymetric lidar survey simultaneously measures and records three distinct surfaces – land, water, and submerged land using airborne laser-based sensors. While this technology shares some characteristics of traditional airborne lidar mapping, it also has significant differences that increase the understanding of the nearshore environment for improved marine resource mapping, benthic habitat mapping, shoreline delineation, nautical charting, and marine debris mapping. If you want to learn more about this type of survey you can read the article down below as they have great examples of how this type of survey works. At McElhanney, we don’t just skim the surface; we dive deep to uncover remarkable insights. Recently, our team embarked on a shallow water river survey that combined disciplines: Conventional Survey Methods: We leveraged time-tested approaches to gather foundational data beneath heavy vegetation. Single Beam Bathymetry: Our precision-focused single beam surveys mapped the riverbed contours with meticulous accuracy. Drone-Mounted LiDAR: Armed with airborne LiDAR technology, we captured high-resolution 3D scans, revealing hidden details. The outcome? Astounding results! All forms of survey empower informed decisions. Whether you're navigating rivers or flying high in the clouds, you can count on McElhanney to chart the course.

Safety is always our first priority. Therefore, we plan ahead to keep our community safe and maintain reliable services during extreme weather conditions. For the upcoming 2024-25 bushfire season, we will survey powerline corridors for risks using state-of-the-art technologies such as light aircraft, drones, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) and satellite to complete inspections. Chief Operating Officer, Luke Jenner explains in this video how implement our Bushfire Risk Management Plan. You can also read more about how we mitigate risks to our network here: https://bit.ly/4bDIJFW #EssentialEnergy #Bushfire #Energysafety #climatechange
