What an honour to host TEDxMelbourne in our space with Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, holding a lively and thought-provoking discussion about 'Unpacking Genius' - inspired by the legacy of Leonardo da Vinci. Surrounded by all facets of Da Vinci's work, guests experienced a truly immersive journey into the concept of 'genius'.
🎉 And that’s a wrap on TEDx Melbourne's Unpacking Genius event! Last night, we came together in the spectacular and immersive surroundings of THE LUME Melbourne, with the support of our presenting partner, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, for an evening that was nothing short of amazing. The space was exclusively ours, creating the perfect atmosphere to dive deep into the concept of genius. A huge shoutout to the incredible audience—your engagement made the night truly special. We were honoured to have Professors Anne Dunlop and Geoff Brooks take the stage, sparking fascinating discussions and inspiring us all. The balance between artistic and engineering perspectives was wonderful and thought-provoking. One intriguing insight: Did you know that Da Vinci didn’t complete much of his work? He was a chronic procrastinator! His obsession with a wide range of interests often led to unfinished projects. Like many geniuses, though, when he did focus on something, his dedication could be truly obsessive. The evening was a perfect blend of inspiration, creativity, and mind-opening conversations. And let’s not forget the delicious canapés that topped it all off 🍴 A massive thank you to our volunteers, whose hard work and dedication ensured everything ran smoothly. Your efforts made the event seamless and unforgettable. And a special thanks to Fifth Castle Media for capturing the night with amazing photos 📸 Until the next event!
