A quick summary of the sports cars market in 2022. Global demand at 411,000 units, or 19,000 more than in 2021. Most of them (59%) were sold in USA-Canada, where the fans of these cars still buy them (unlike Europe), and the pony/muscle cars are still an affordable reality. The Ford Mustang was the world's most popular sports car, followed by the aged Dodge Challenger, and the Porsche 911. The Volkswagen Group keeps the leadership thanks to the Porsche models, but also to some models from Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Bugatti. The Chinese, both OEMs and consumers, barely care about these cars. This is not good for the segment, as many future projects could be abandoned due to the lack of demand. Just out — Q1 2024 vehicle recall rankings are in: Brand Vehicles Recalled Ford 2.2M Stellantis 963K Honda 780K Toyota 685K Kia 652K GM 626K Hyundai 425K Mercedes-Benz 281K Subaru 228K *Tesla: 2.4M (mostly over-the-air updates) In total, there were 9.7 million vehicles recalled in the first quarter of 2024. These figures are derived from three months of NHTSA data, courtesy of the latest report by BizzyCar. 🏆 The Nissan Interstar glitters with a Platinum 🏆 Euro NCAP awards the Nissan #Interstar a Safety Assist Performance of 84%. The Interstar is a re-badged Renault Master. The 2024 Interstar scores well in all the aspects of active safety assessed by Euro NCAP. Some passive safety equipment is available only as an option (for example, a passenger airbag and side-curtain airbag) but crash safety is not currently part of the assessment.
