For #TCWVolunteerDay, we partnered with Big Sunday to bring onsite volunteer projects to the LA office and give employees a chance to connect and give back during the workday. Colleagues and interns gathered to fill backpacks for students at Esperanza Elementary School, make blankets for the Veterans Medical Center in West LA, and create a mosaic sun to brighten up the new headquarters at Program for Torture Victims. Thank you to all who participated and supported these local organizations! 👏 #LifeAtTCW
3rd attempt to post. Though at DEA they are not so proud to highlight their shortcomings that they have no issue hiding from taxpayers.
They removed my previous posts which simply expresses DEA's willingness to hide their incompetence and disabled comments on the appropriate post.
If this firm put out the truth and numbers of how many things they had to redo on this Highway 20 Safety Upgrade between Corvallis and Albany OR taxpayers would have something to say about this firm’s laughable ranking.
How about it DEA, put out an itemized list of everything that had to be done two or three times because it wasn’t done right in the first place and how much taxpayers money was wasted in the process. In my driveway alone they had to do multiple things more than once. No wonder ODOT never comes in on budget with incompetence like this!
Taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for this!
DEA was contracted for at least the Newberg-Dundee Bypass, the worst one, up 239% from original estimate.

Meet our next community champions in our Denver office! Our Denver staff volunteers for Food for Thought, an organization that seeks to provide children across the Denver metro area with food certainty over weekends during the school year.
McKenna Jones, who participated along with teammates from DEA’s Denver office, said, “We recognize the importance of giving back to the communities in which we work, which is why we are proud to partner with Food for Thought Denver. Children are the future, and we are passionate about working to eliminate childhood hunger in our community.”
At DEA, we're proud to highlight our community champions who embody our commitment to corporate social responsibility.

600 Easter Eggs 🥚 🥚 🥚
In 2021, our family was relocated from Victoria to Ottawa. Shortly after, I went on maternity leave with our second son. It was a HUGE adjustment going from having my active real estate business and being surrounded by friends and family, to feeling pretty darn isolated at home with two little ones in a new place.
Eventually I made a friend down the street, and that first Spring I invited her family to join ours for an Easter Egg hunt in our backyard; collectively we had 5 kids.
This past spring, just 3 short years later, we continued our annual Easter Egg Hunt, and I couldn't help but tear up as it hit me what an amazing community we have built around our family - this year we hosted 11 families with a combined 29 kids! (5 families brought deviled eggs 😋)
As military spouses, this sense of community is our anchor, especially when we find ourselves in new locations or when our partners are on extended deployments. Employers can play a crucial role in fostering this sense of belonging by creating opportunities for military spouses to connect within the workplace.
When employees feel connected, they are more engaged, productive, and loyal. Building networks and community spaces within your organization not only supports military spouses but also enhances overall workplace morale and collaboration.
Let's create workplaces where everyone feels they belong. Reach out to learn how you can support military spouses and foster community within your organization.

During my time at @Life Without Barriers, I’ve learned that fostering can come in many forms. Providing care doesn’t have to be full-time; it can be providing a safe space for a young person for a couple of nights or one weekend each month.
When it comes to fostering, no two children or families are the same; that’s why Life Without Barriers doesn’t take a one-size-fits-all approach.

And we're OPEN!
After 2 years, 2 months and 22 days of being closed, our doors are finally open once again.
We've made a lot of new friends while we've been closed, running activities and workshops in schools, libraries and community events across the city, but it's just wonderful to have our building back.
To hear it come alive with the familiar sound of people having a great time together is just magic.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey, and to our amazing, resilient staff and volunteers.
Come and see us soon 😊🌈🚀

👏 In a recent podcast, we talked to Jared Wallace, Assistant Chief of Police at City of Waco, TX about the positive changes observed by patrol officers and detectives since participating in Faith & Blue events.
Assistant Chief Wallace noted, "With our Faith & Blue event activities, we saw leadership across the city getting involved, making community engagement a more accepted practice at Waco PD. Officers began volunteering for these events on their own, not because they were assigned, but because they wanted to connect with the community." He added, "One of the most memorable moments was seeing patrol officers and detectives, who had never engaged before, sitting down at a barbecue hosted by a local church, sharing stories, and playing with the kids. It showed that breaking bread together can truly break down barriers."
🤝These insights underscore the power of community engagement in fostering positive cultural changes within the department. While these changes take time, the progress achieved is immensely rewarding. The bonds formed during these events have lasting impacts, reinforcing that connecting with faith communities enriches policing culture.

CarePortal is #hiring for a part-time Church Ambassador in Detroit!
Ambassadors serve as the leading relational ministry experts to churches and community champions that are assigned to their network. These network leaders are trusted, experientially-qualified local leaders who recruit, train, empower, and walk alongside church and community leaders as they use the CarePortal platform with a vision for how to engage the “Whole Church” across lines of denomination, race, class, and culture. A person would love this role if God has given them a vision for seeing the Church answering the call for caring for the vulnerable and have a natural ability to network clergy and community leaders together.
If that sounds like you, or someone in your network, let's chat! Together we can reverse the foster care crisis in Michigan one child, one family, one connection at a time.
