For #TCWVolunteerDay, we partnered with Big Sunday to bring onsite volunteer projects to the LA office and give employees a chance to connect and give back during the workday. Colleagues and interns gathered to fill backpacks for students at Esperanza Elementary School, make blankets for the Veterans Medical Center in West LA, and create a mosaic sun to brighten up the new headquarters at Program for Torture Victims. Thank you to all who participated and supported these local organizations! 👏 #LifeAtTCW

If we’re correct, our points are as relevant today as they were six months ago and the market repricing is just beginning. The latest U.S. employment report fell below expectations and showed unemployment ticked higher, sparking a stock market rout that put the Nasdaq into correction territory. Earlier this week, Co-Head of Global Rates Jamie Patton told Bloomberg Radio that these kinds of disruptions are part of a wider miscalculation since the Federal Reserve is looking at lagged data. Investors are getting mixed signals about where the U.S. economy is heading, and our team still urges caution as some cracks appear beneath the surface. In TCW’s #FixedIncome Quarterly Insights, Generalist Portfolio Manager Ruben Hovhannisyan points out consumer behavioral shifts, uncertain global elections, the potential for lower rates, and risk market concerns, which have informed our team’s disciplined views on #GlobalRates, #Credit and #EmergingMarkets this year.
