Great to see the roll out of #ActiveStart in North Yorkshire. We've worked closely with Active Cumbria who developed the programme, to train our very own trainers (see Liz Burkinshaw below!) and are now well underway in delivering, thanks to specific health inequalities funding . 🤩 50 people have been through the training 🤩 Nearly 40 settings have an Active Start resource 🤩 100% of learners say their knowledge and awareness of how much activity is needed in the early years has increased 🤩 100% of learners say their understanding of how to include more activity and active play into their day has increased 🤩 100% of learners say their confidence, inspiration and motivation has increased. The training has involved so much discussion which is great! Learners have come away with more ideas for their setting and have been able to talk through some of the challenges they face; for which we are working on some follow up webinars/support. Teaching kids #golf lessons provides an exceptional way to instill the value of #responsibility at an early age. As they step onto the green, young golfers learn to take ownership of their actions, decisions, and outcomes. Beyond the game itself, golf lessons foster responsibility by teaching kids etiquette, integrity, and sportsmanship. If more companies actually took steps to "grow the game" instead of just repeating the line over and over again, we would all be better for it. Golf consumers are starting to see through those empty words. Here is a simple equation: More golfers + more enjoyment = Increased demand across the industry Let's push each other to do more things that make people feel welcome, break down the cost barriers, and help people learn about this complicated game.

So interesting to hear Gary Neville's insights on the challenges beginners face in golf. It's disheartening to witness newcomers being chastised for not knowing every rule and piece of golf etiquette. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or intimidated, especially kids. This is such a key driver for us at Love Golf UK, breaking down barriers with free equipment hire, coaching sessions and community engagement. Rory McIlroy is spot on - we need more accessible entry points like driving ranges and public golf courses to bridge the gap between interest and actual play.
