If nothing changes, nothing changes. If I want to improve my cardiovascular endurance, but I continuously only strength train & never get my heart rate up, my cardiovascular endurance isn’t going to improve. The concept sounds quite simple, and it is, but we often expect drastically different results without drastically changing our decisions + actions. This is because it’s difficult to execute and employ into our lives because we spend so much of our lives on autopilot. How can I get off autopilot, Matt? Great question. 1️⃣ Self-reflect. Identify areas where we’re dissatisfied or where we desire improvement. Identify how we currently feel in those areas of our life, and also how we want to feel. 2️⃣ Identify patterns. Reflect on current choices and behaviors. This allows us to become mindful of any recurring patterns or habits that may be holding us back. One bad habit for me is choosing to scroll social media when I’m bored. 3️⃣ Replace current behaviors with new behaviors. The next time I’m bored, I have the opportunity to observe what it feels like to be bored, and then instead of picking up the iPhone again, choosing to make a different choice. It could be 5 minutes of breathwork, it could be picking up a book. 4️⃣ Practice self-compassion. Be KIND to ourselves through this process. It’s freaking hard to unlearn bad habits and train ourselves to make different decisions. Remember, our life doesn’t get better by chance, it gets better by change.

Friday Focus #270: Take your foot off the brake! I ended last week's Friday focus with this quote from Dr. Maxwell Maltz: "Having low self-esteem is like driving through life with the brakes on." What a powerful truth! I translate that quote to mean that if you think very little of yourself, you will live a less-than-mediocre life. And who wants that? https://lnkd.in/gcyBxCyy

Your nervous system is like a freight train. Running at full steam all day, it builds up too much speed and momentum. So it’s hard to slow down at night. It might be enough to get off to sleep. But then you’re wide awake at 3am, mind racing. Slowing down or stopping the train throughout the day makes it easier to wind it down at night. Tech-free walks, a few minutes of down-regulation breathing, binaural beats, and non-sleep deep rest protocols are all science-backed ways to do it. Because the better we rest, the better we perform.

Buckle up buttercup! Big, big energy abounds today so let’s make the most of it! 4 ways to pick up your mood and manifest: 1. Dance. Or at least turn on some good tune and move your body while no one (or everyone) is watching. In order to move any stuck energy within, you have to move the physical body. Shake, kick, spin, hop, whatever gets the blood pumping to the music you like best will start the process. 2. Write. Write down what you want to manifest AS IF IT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED AS IF YOU ALREADY HAVE IT. If you want a new car, write “My new 2023 Toyota 4Runner is pretty amazing and it drives like a dream I just got back from the store in it . In thinking you already have what you want you change your frequency from lack to abundance. And writing it down take it out of your head and makes it reality, at least to start, on the page. 3. Get Quiet. You distract yourself a lot. All the things you what you think of all the ways you can’t have them. This is a negative mindset which then filters into the rest of your life. Get quiet, clear those thoughts that are holding you back. It’s hard to be silent with yourself but this clarity will help further manifest. 4. Movie in your mind. Once you’re clear with all that you want and you’ve written it down in the present tense, close your eyes. Start to envision all that you desire and how it feels to see it happening in your mind. Sink into that feeling and allow it to fuel the knowing that all those things are on there way to you with the mantra, “I don’t chase, I attract. What I desire desires me more”. Let me know how it goes! #222 #manifestation #manifesting #energyhealing #frequency #trusttheuniverse
