| Ditch the Doodles: Mastering the Art of Effective Note-Taking Ever leave a lecture or meeting feeling overwhelmed by a mountain of scribbles? Ineffective note-taking can hinder your learning and make reviewing information a chore. Here are some strategies to transform your note-taking game: • Choose the right format: Explore different methods like outlining, mind mapping, or the Cornell Method to find what suits your learning style. • Focus on key points: Don't try to write everything down word-for-word. Listen for main ideas, supporting details, and definitions. • Use abbreviations and symbols: Create a personal shorthand system to capture information quickly and efficiently. Just be sure you can decipher it later! • Leave space for elaboration: Include room in your notes to add your own thoughts, questions, or connections to existing knowledge. • Review and revise: Don't let your notes become a graveyard of information. Revisit them soon after a lecture or session to fill in gaps, clarify concepts, and solidify understanding. Bonus Tip: Leverage technology! There are many note-taking apps that offer features like voice recording, image capture, and easy organization of your notes across devices. Effective note-taking is an art, not a science. Experiment and find what works best for you! Share your favorite note-taking tips in the comments!** #notetaking #learningtips #lifelonglearning #organization #productivity

The idea that if you don't use what you learn, you might forget 75% of it after just six days is based on the concept of the forgetting curve. This suggests that without reinforcement, our ability to remember information tends to decline over time. However, the exact percentage and timeframe can vary among individuals. Applying what you've learned through practice and real-world situations can help solidify your memory. Techniques like spaced repetition and active recall can also improve long-term retention. #MemoryRetention #LearningTips #ForgetCurve #ApplyWhatYouLearn #StudySkills #KnowledgeRetention #PracticeMakesPerfect #EffectiveLearning #SpacedRepetition #ActiveRecall. #LongTermLearning #MindRetention #CognitiveLearning #LearnAndApply #MemoryBoost #LearningHacks #RealWorldLearning #ContinuousLearning https://lnkd.in/gFuG6gpB

Practice might not make perfect, but it is where powerful learning happens. Where muscle memory is formed. Where new habits are founded. Where quality feedback and reflection can spark those lightbulb moments, growing confidence and belief. Deliberate practice like this doesn't happen by chance. Through a hurried role play at the end of a workshop. Or without conscious thought in the day to day. Well-structured practice sessions, with specific feedback and means for quality reflection can be the difference maker in someone's learning journey. And these don't need to be left to the latter stages of that journey. Start with practice, build it into every stage of the journey and make it a learning habit. Helping your learners hit the bullseye of their performance outcomes more often than not. If you are a training provider and would like to explore how #GiraffePad can help you build practice and reflection into your learning journeys, we'd love to chat.
