In the middle of this summer, think-cell will be present at the IT Career Fair in Heidelberg University for the very first time. The event will be held from 10:00 to 16:00 at Chemistry Lecture Hall Center of the Heidelberg University. Heidelberg University, founded in 1386, is Germany’s oldest university and one of the strongest research universities in all of Europe. A key unique selling point of Computer Science in Heidelberg is the strong interdisciplinary orientation, reflected in a large number of research projects and teaching. With over 1600 computer science, mathematics and natural sciences students and alumni expected at the event, the IT Career Fair will be a perfect opportunity for think-cell to showcase our prominent C++ Development internship and full-time positions with an option to write your academic thesis with us. We will have a booth at the fair, ready to meet the participants talk about the benefits we provide for the team members – such as a flat structure, no meetings or overtime, flexible working hours, relocation assistance, and our dedication to excellent code. Our team will also bring the raffle, offering branded prizes such as beach balls, socks, reusable straws, and others to participants. Be sure to stop by our booth, get your gift, and have a chat with the team – our software developer Jonathan and HR representatives Julia and Anastasia. We look forward to networking with Heidelberg University students and graduates! https://lnkd.in/ekBuTsJT

Something I wish I was told as a young freshman engineer at UH: After going to several career fairs over the past 3 years, I believe I've determined a personally efficient way to mass-apply for internships (and co-ops): - After obtaining company names (from a career fair), first search the companies through eCONNECTION (found on the AccessUH portal) in the 'jobs' tab. - If you're not finding the companies, positions, or locations you were looking for, apply through the given site (any address or QR code you obtained at the career fair). - If you were not given a specific site to go to, navigate to the company's website and find their 'careers' or 'Work for us' tab and search for "intern" or "co-op". *The reason for starting with eCONNECTION is so you can apply for the Engineering Career Center's 'CO-OP Process' (more information at https://lnkd.in/gjZ45ENA). This allows you to remain a student at UH without taking classes while you work full-time as a co-op during a semester. **Be sure to track all the companies you've applied for as you go, just to stay organized.

As a university recruiter for the Idaho National Laboratory (INL), Eddie Celis, M.S. visits campuses across the country to seek out the perfect fit for Idaho National Laboratory internships. The University of Idaho Career Fair is fertile ground for Celis and hundreds of other company representatives in search of both interns and full-time employees. The U of I Fall Career Fair drew a record 230 employers – the first time the event has drawn more than 200. The spring edition takes place Feb. 7 at the P1FCU Kibbie Dome, where more than 150 employers will visit with students from across the academic spectrum. Celis ’19, ’22, returns to familiar territory next week. As an undergraduate student he worked for the Office of Career Services. Now he helps identify students who can contribute to INL’s mission. “We’re looking for skills and qualifications, but most of the U of I students have those,” Celis said. “The other half we’re looking for is the passion behind their work. We want students to understand the big picture of the work we do here at INL. Our researchers and scientists are trying to change the world and when students have that same passion, that’s when it really clicks.” The University of Idaho Career Services staff works to bring in a wide variety of employers and prepares students by reviewing resumes and advising students on how to make a good impression on employers. Students can research companies represented at the Career Fair on Handshake – the U of I’s online career platform. In addition to the Career Fair, each college holds a Networking Night, where students can visit with employers in a casual setting and faculty can connect with companies to learn more about what they’re looking for in graduates. What percentage of employers say U of I Students make a positive impression on them? Find out in the latest edition of the president's Friday letter. https://lnkd.in/g-P9UiCN #careerpreparation #college #recruiting

Students: Are you ready to meet employers who want to hire computer science majors for internships and co-ops? Tennessee Tech’s engineering career fair is Feb. 8, and maybe you’re wondering, “How can a career fair help me?” For Nathanael Newton, a junior computer science major from Knoxville, Tech’s career fair was how he landed a one-year co-op with EOSYS Group in Nashville. As part of the digital transformation team, he built websites that connected operations technology data to the information technology network of client companies. He said the career fair helped him get the position by building his confidence: “Being able to go up and talk to people at the booths was a great confidence booster and helped me learn a lot about networking and making connections.” Watch the video to learn more. Who else has tips to share? - CS students: If you’ve participated in a co-op or internship, share your experience and tips! - Alumni, professors and industry leaders: What are some other ways a career fair can help students? #TNTech #StudentSuccess #EngineeringCareerFair #WhereComputerScientistsSoar Tennessee Technological University College of Engineering at Tennessee Technological University EOSYS Nathanael N.

Meet Srividhya Pattabiraman (Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences, UMass Amherst MS ‘24) who has time and again used career fairs to network with employers to gain internship and full-time opportunities. She was a Data Science Intern at Eversource this past summer and is currently doing a co-op with them. She has worked on projects such as capturing power savings by implementing time series forecasting, as well as detecting defects in distribution lines using computer vision algorithms. Here are some of her insights about networking at career fairs: “Think of career fairs as a way to expand your network. Filter companies based on interest, research open opportunities, and tailor your approach. Leave a lasting impression on representatives by developing a pitch for each role and customizing your resume. If they are open to it, connect with them on LinkedIn. Last year, this approach resulted in a positive interaction with a senior manager from Eversource at a career fair. Despite no immediate openings, he reached out in April with an internship opportunity. After another networking event, an HR connection at AspenTech advocated for me with a hiring manager, securing an interview with the firm. Both my internship and full-time opportunities originated from my proactive engagement at career fairs. Seize the opportunity to make meaningful connections that may prove valuable for your career journey.” #careerspotlight #networking #careerfair #computerscience

Nat’s top 5 reasons to attend Career Fair on April 29th: 1. It’s a super efficient way to interview candidates (as many as 20 people in a speed-dating format). 2. Internships are a great way to interview a future full-time employee. Many of our interns stay on with their companies after graduation. 3. There is no risk in meeting some bright students (unless you count finding parking downtown…but I believe in you!) 4. You get to connect with industry friends at lunch (which is provided and a delicious way to forget about the parking drama). 5. You give back to the graphic communications industry…which we keep saying is having a hard time attracting students. I have 200+ young people ready…show them we need their skills and ideas by supporting them on this day! Bonus: for internships, there are tax incentives and grants for the 300 paid hours students need to work.

Strategic Federal Accounts BD @ Handshake | Gen Z, DEIA, & Early Talent Recruitment for the Government
Last Spring, 65% of virtual fair attendees on Handshake were students of color. But guess what? There’s another reason why it’s to every company’s benefit to include virtual fairs in your talent attraction strategy. Nearly 3% of college students study abroad each year. That’s almost 400,000 candidates who you can ONLY reach virtually, and they may be some of the strongest candidates you can hire for next summer’s or next year’s internships, co-ops, and entry-level roles. There are tons of talented, diverse, and study-abroad candidates you cannot reach if you only rely on in-person career fairs. Keep that in mind ;).
