He even covered multiple provider schedules to prevent any disruption in patient care. Throughout this busy period, Dr. Pete maintained a positive attitude, keeping spirits high with his humor and ensuring a positive experience for all. Sports Rehab & Performance Physical Therapist. I help high achievers stay in the game and get back to doing what they love at a high level
So many providers leave so many patient questions unanswered using their “scope of practice” as an excuse. I’m certainly not saying we should start overstepping our bounds and practicing outside our scope of practice. I am saying, though, that the patient asking you a question is doing so because they are interested in hearing from you on the matter. And a skilled provider is willing to share and can do so in a way that makes it clear that the answer comes from a place of opinion, not expertise. Further, being a provider (especially a primary care provider, a hat physical therapists are wearing more often these days), means being a resource delegator. If you can’t provide an adequate answer to their question, or treat the problem yourself, you need to do the due diligence to connect the patient with the resource that can. This is how we provide total person care and we double down on delivery of excellent product in healthcare, and physical therapy specifically.
