Giving back to our community is a core value here at Thrasher, and last Friday our teams got the chance to do just that! Our locations partnered alongside the national network of Supportworks companies to build beds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace. This incredible nonprofit ensures every child has a bed to call their own. Across the USA, thousands of kids lack a comfortable place to rest, but our efforts are making a real difference!🛏️💙 Thrasher teams built 315 beds in a single day; meaning 315 children in need now have a bed of their own to sleep in!🎉 As a company we pride ourselves on not only providing the best service, but also redefining the communities where we live and work! Stay tuned this week as we shine a spotlight on different locations and hear firsthand stories from our team members about their impactful experiences in our communities! #MakeADifference #OneCommunity #SleepinHeavenlyPeace

💤 Skegee: Your go-to for vegan sleep gummies and holistic wellness supplements. Sleep better, live healthier. 🌱
On National Build Day, Alabama Professional Services and Sleep in Heavenly Peace joined forces to tackle a daunting issue: child bedlessness. This initiative aimed to provide hand-made beds to children who, without this support, would have to sleep on floors or couches, contributing to severe health and emotional challenges. Reflecting on my own experiences, I remember volunteering for community projects similar to this where we came together, rolled up our sleeves, and made a tangible impact. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about working collectively to uplift those in need—it's a reminder of the positive change we can create in our communities. Did you know that sleep deprivation can lead to hyperactivity, anxiety, and depression in children? The bedlessness crisis is real, and initiatives like these are crucial for fostering healthier futures for our youth. What can you do to contribute to this cause? Consider volunteering your time or donating to organizations that address these pressing issues. Together, we can bring hope and comfort to the lives of children. #ChildWelfare #CommunitySupport #Volunteer #SleepInHeavenlyPeace #AlabamaProfessionalServices #NationalBuildDay

Are you looking to make a difference to the youth in your Scarborough community but not sure where to start? Well, when you contribute to Fernie Youth, you can have faith in the knowledge that 100% of your donation goes directly to our programs, supporting youth in need immediately. Our programs include ⬇️ Residential — Youth need a stable home to grow into contributing adults. Reintegration — Reintegration programming fills the gap between custody and community to change youth’s behaviours in challenging situations. Employment — As young adults move to independence, they need the support of a network of caring people; often, families are unable to help, and that’s when transition-focused employment programs make a difference towards self-reliance. While on a volunteer trip to West Baltimore with Chris, Jake starts up a conversation with a friendly and candid local named Don. 🗣 The two talked at length about the current status of the West Baltimore neighborhood and the volunteer efforts that were taking place that week. When building our Skool Community, Clifton S. & I wanted to do more than just make another group. The goal of this one is IMPACT. It's why we're proud to donate 1% of Legacy Built's profits to Kid's Hope USA. Before social media, I worked as a pediatric Occupational therapist, and I know all too well how challenging the early years can be for families. Kid's hope USA provides much needed support for young families. Clifton and I often tell each other, "This isn't just a business venture any more, this is a mission." Our primary aim is to elevate EVERY PERSON we come in contact with. Within our community, and in the world. Not all that long ago, we were starting out on this platform at zero. We now realize the real value of community, skills, tools, and network: IMPACT. This community is designed for people who KNOW they need a presence on the timeline, and also know that their goals go WAY beyond just making a social-profile for the sake of it. Starting on the right foot on Twitter/X & LinkedIn was our first step toward the life and business we wanted for ourselves and our families. If you want info, comment "IMPACT" and I'll send you a DM. April is KICKOFF! Happy Thursday, Friends!

I believe that Businesses and Corporations should have a significant impact on their communities, and giving back to the infrastructure of kids is a great way to make a positive difference. By donating time, services, or resources, companies can help support the development and well-being of young people, which can lead to a more prosperous and healthy community. Some ways businesses can give back include: 1. Mentorship programs: Pairing employees with young people for guidance and support. 2. Educational initiatives: Supporting schools, literacy programs, or STEM education. 3. Community outreach: Hosting events, workshops, or activities that benefit local youth. 4. Philanthropy: Donating to organizations that support children's health, education, and welfare. 5. Employee volunteer programs: Encouraging employees to volunteer their time to support local youth-focused initiatives. By giving back, businesses can demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility, enhance their reputation, and contribute to a brighter future for generations to come. Terry T. Gray

In the nonprofit sector, we often talk about the value and necessity of involving lived experience perspectives in our work. Yet, when it comes time to walk the walk of that work, we fall short. Next Thursday, I'll have the chance to share space with some fantastic friends and colleagues that work extensively in this arena with me. This is a great chance for funders, service providers, and nonprofit leaders to come and hear how two non-profits have approached this work, and how we've succeeded, the challenges we've faced, and where we can grow. Beyond just hearing from us, you'll also have a chance to engage directly in this issue from your own agency/foundation/organizational perspective, and leave with a clearer idea of how to support community and lived experience engagement in your own work.
Please join us for ImpactTulsa's next Perspectives 2 session, "Infusing community power into your organization," on Thursday, January 11, at 9:30 a.m. at Rudisill Library. We are partnering with Housing Solutions Tulsa and the Terence Crutcher Foundation to co-host a conversation on infusing community power and lived experience into nonprofit work streams. The goal is to shift power to the community to make decisions and ensure that services are in tune with community needs. Perspectives 2 is part of ImpactTulsa's mission to drive systemic change with the shared vision that all children in Tulsa deserve every opportunity to succeed. Learn more about this free meeting and register online at this link. https://ow.ly/YuPi50QkqgQ #Perspectives #TulsaNonprofits #GoForEquity

A group of kids were faced with a tough decision: spend their afternoon helping the homeless or enjoying a sweet treat at the ice cream parlor 🍦🤔. But as they thought about it, they realized that they could make a difference in their community by choosing to help those in need 🌎. They decided to spend their time serving meals and collecting donations for the local homeless shelter 🍴. As they worked together to make a positive impact, the kids learned valuable lessons about empathy, kindness, and the importance of giving back 🤝. They saw firsthand the struggles that many people face and understood that even small actions can make a big difference 🌟. And as they left the shelter, they felt a sense of pride and fulfillment that no ice cream cone could match 🎉. The kids' selfless decision inspired others to follow in their footsteps, creating a ripple effect of kindness in the community 🌊. They proved that even the youngest among us can make a big impact when we choose to put others before ourselves 👧🏼. And who knows, maybe next time they'll enjoy their ice cream cones even more, knowing that they've made a difference in the lives of others 🍦😊. #followme #KidsMakingADifference #HelpingTheHomeless #SelflessActs #EmpathyInAction #KindnessMatters #GivingBack #CommunityFirst #InspiringYouth #RippleEffectOfKindness #MakeADifference #YouthEmpowerment #SocialImpact #HeartwarmingMoments

Your children may have different passions than you do. That's okay. It is a mark of a good parent when the next generation is equipped to pursue its own passions. As our children discover new interests, it may become difficult to find common ground together. This is why a shared family cause can be so important in a thriving family. A family cause is a movement, nonprofit, or problem that each member of your family is passionate about. This cause allows your family to have a common line of communication and a way to engage with each other. It is a part of your family's generosity journey that can be passed on for generations to come. Here are three simple steps to help your family engage in a cause: 1. Engage in Generational Giving. Learn what your children are passionate about. Younger generations are more interested in advocacy than previous generations. 2. Connect to a Nonprofit. Younger generations are often more focused on supporting specific issues. Help connect them to a nonprofit you both can support that fits their passion. 3. Serve Your Community Together. Volunteer for new causes together as a family to find common interests. #passion #purpose #motivation
