Did you know that the #cement industry is responsible for up to 7% of global CO2 emissions every year? It's high time to change that! 🌍 Our innovative polysius® pure oxyfuel process enables us to offset almost 100% of CO2 emissions in cement production. But that's not all: we are also focusing on #renewable energies and optimizing concrete recycling to make the cement industry more #sustainable. This way, we can significantly reduce the #ecological footprint of this important industry! 🌱♻️💪
Mr. Kuske below has stated a valid point, why pure oxygen instead of ambient gas? I reckon, maybe it has something to do with some extra process, namely the carbon dioxide-nitrogen (and any amount of small traces of inert gas) separation. The conservative technology (e.g., post-combustion carbon-adsorption fixed bed of industrial scale, I am not familar with the current tech though, It will be almost definitely tech improvement) has limitations on the feed gas temperature after the pyro-process. Maybe with pure oxygen, the produced carbon dioxide could be directly dispatched to the synthesizing reaction, without electrical heat exchanger or other equippment? Would love to hear more about it though. In any case, if presented as this is, it could be an oppotunity of the development of chemical synthesizing industry, which is also one of the strives of Thyssenkrupp.
In my opinion, reduce one of the preheater stages. Increase the calciner height. Perform calcination through radiation and convection in the new calciner without using combustion. Because the cost of oxygen concentration is higher. Produce electricity from tertiary air with chp.
Great Initiative. 7% Co2 Emissions will be Captured by Using Pure Oxygen. Thanks for Sharing.
Time to reinvent cement 🙂
It can also be the most recycler and absorber of CO2 emissions
CO2 is absorbed back when the concrete hardens...

3wI don‘t understand your reason to use pure oxygen. Unfortunately, I don’t find a valid argument in your presentation. Carbon capture can be done efficiently by scrubbing normal “airborne” flue gas and pure CO2 flashes from the stripper column. This has already extensively proven by RWE and others in pilot plants. What is the advantage to use O2 instead of air?
