🩸 Donated Blood – And Learned Something Cool! 🩸Stephanie Edra thank you for organizing this event! I had the privilege of donating blood in partnership with Stanford Blood Center at the Hyatt Centric. Not only was it an important experience, but I also learned something fascinating that I wanted to share. Turns out, my blood type is O-, and apparently, that makes me a universal donor! 🩸🔄 It’s pretty rare, though, which means it can sometimes be harder to find donors with compatible blood. So, of course, I couldn’t help but ask: Do they save O- blood for other O- people? 🤔 Her answer blew my mind: Nope! O- blood is actually used in emergency situations, especially when babies are born and their blood type isn't yet known, or in trauma cases when there's no time to check blood types. That O- blood is a lifesaver when every second counts. ⏱️ It’s incredible to know how something as simple as donating blood can make such a huge difference. I don't post many personal things on this site, but this was a life dividing event for students like me who attended Texas A&M at this time. No one will ever be able to describe what it was like to look at the stack twisted into a heap with deceased students still underneath. Lessons I learned from the bonfire collapse: - Local news cares about local people, and are the best source of unbiased information in times of crisis. - National news will show up demanding answers to why it happened while dead students haven't been removed from the accident. They don't really care, they want to sell their advertising space. -The real answers to why take time to carefully study, the independent report of this tragedy was presented more than one year after (if my memory serves me right) - "That is how we always did it" is not the answer to a safety concern. Anyone can identify a problem, no matter how much they know or don't know. Group think is a well known principle for a reason. Stop, talk it out, and come up with a solution together. - No matter what differences you have with others, you can come together when the need arises. Praying for the family of those who fell on that day.

🏔️ Inspiring Adventure for a Cause! 🌎 🌟 We worked with our Ensure NutriVigor team recently to proudly support global mountaineer and expeditioner Nick Hollis in his latest 721 Challenge! Nick is on a mission to raise funds for the World Land Trust, an incredible charity dedicated to safeguarding natural habitats from damage. Nick’s story involves: 🚣♂️ Rowing Across the Atlantic: As part of his challenge, Nick embarked on a remarkable 50-day rowing journey across the vast Atlantic Ocean. With stocks of Ensure NutriVigor by his side, it fuelled his endurance and managed muscle mass, helping him to push personal boundaries and capabilities. 🌍 Climate Awareness and Record-Breaking Attempt: Nick’s determination knows no limits. In April, he was poised to break a world record, but his attempt was cut short by broken sea ice—a stark reminder of the impact of warmer temperatures. Nick’s mission aligns perfectly with the cause he champions: raising awareness about climate change and its effects on our planet. ❄️ Being Back in Training for the North Pole: Undeterred by the setback, Nick is currently back in training. His sights are set on a North Pole ski re-attempt in March 2025.
