Thank you, Women for Economic Leadership and Development (WELD) and Otterbein University for co-hosting the 14th Anniversary National Leadership Conference on June 20th. The presentations by accomplished speakers and a variety of breakout sessions hit the mark to support this year’s theme, “Rise. Thrive. Lead. Building Strong Networks and Allies!” My key takeaways for making new connections and building relationships include: · A negotiator mindset is critical for successful business & family communications (especially when talking with my teenage sons). · Confidence matters! · Improve relationships by actively listening & asking questions. · One size does not fit all! Adapt your leadership style to each unique situation or task.

Empowering individuals, particularly women, with leadership opportunities is paramount for fostering positive change in the international development sector. Nurturing inclusivity within our institutional fabric is crucial as it not only enhances diversity but also fosters innovation and ensures that a variety of perspectives are represented in decision-making processes. That is why Counterpart International is actively participating in WILD Network’s 2024 Women’s Global Leadership Forum. My esteemed colleagues, Elise Young and Lida Hedayat, will be hosting a virtual session titled 'Navigating Difficult Conversations with High Emotional Intelligence,' a valuable conversation that aims to equip participants with practical strategies for effectively managing challenging dialogues. Emotional intelligence plays a pivotal role in leadership and interpersonal dynamics, facilitating better communication, conflict resolution, and team cohesion. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance your leadership skills. #Leadership #EmotionalIntelligence #Innovation

Here's a secret about leadership: It's not about having all the answers. It's about asking the right questions. Questions that inspire. Questions that challenge. Questions that transform. When you shift your focus from providing solutions to fostering curiosity, you unlock your team's potential. And that, my friends, is where true innovation begins. Next time you're faced with a problem, resist the urge to solve it immediately. Instead, ask a powerful question and watch what unfolds. Ready to lead differently?
