Plant-Based Products Helped Heinz Earn An Outstanding $27.161B of Revenue In 2023! Kraft Heinz is considered to be one of the top food and beverage companies in North America and the fifth-largest in the world. Capable of quickly scaling with market trends, the company's recent strategy of dietary inclusivity seems to be paying off. According to MacroTrends.com, as of September 2023, Heinz saw a 5.22% increase in year-over-year revenue, bringing in a total of $27.161 billion. This was most likely helped by the company's concerted effort to offer a wider variety of plant-based products. In September 2022, Heinz announced a major partnership with NotCo. The partnership has led to a series of vegan-friendly, plant-based products like NotCheese American Style Plant-Based Slices, Kraft NotMac&Cheese, and NotCo Mayo. While some of their plant-based products were released prior to 2023, most saw the greatest visibility and widest market reach last year. Outside of their partnership with NotCo, Heinz is also the parent company of the longstanding plant-based brand, Boca. Boca continues to appear on countless store shelves around the globe and has proven, despite being a dated legacy brand from 1979, that it can withstand the plant-based race even in an era of increased competition. Of course, Heinz is most commonly associated with its long legacy of condiment creation, which is why it's no surprise the company has placed a major focus on creating animal-free offerings. This lineup of squeezable sauces was recently launched in the U.K. and included Vegan Mayo, Vegan Chilli Mayo, Vegan Salad Cream, and Vegan Garlic Aioli. These are just a few of the many plant-forward products Heinz is releasing to the public. With their current lineup, and their recent earnings report, more is likely to come. For start-ups or smaller companies, take note that big brands aren’t abandoning the plant-based trend anytime soon– and neither should you. Be smart, be competitive, and be inclusive.
