Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.... This was Walt Disney's "first version" of what would become Mickey Mouse. When Oswald wasn't so successful Disney went back to his drawing board and kept working. Disney's first cartoon studio went bankrupt and failed. When that happened, he moved to Los Angeles with $40 in his pocket and tried to become an actor. That didn't work out either. His estimated 300 pitches to banks to fund Disney World were met with rejection. But he never gave up. He was a true leader and visionary. He persevered over and over again because he had a goal and was determined to achieve it. Today the Walt Disney World Company is literally known around the world. So, the point here is never give up. As a leader you will be faced with challenges, hardships, rejections, etc. Keep your eye on the goal and keep moving forward. In order to do that - you MUST have the support system in place to help you get there. Time for yourself, accountability partners, proper resources, a balanced life perspective, a coach, etc. These are just a few of the fundamental supports you will need to achieve your goals. Take the time to evaluate what you want and how to achieve it. Be realistic in your planning and make sure you have all the necessary support systems in place. Most importantly, make sure you actually use the support systems you have. #determination #setbacks #grit #leaders #perseverance #perserverancepaysoff

Dwayne The Rock Johnson played 1/3 of all leading roles with "Asian and Pacific Islander" heritage between 2007 and 2019 (out of the 1,300 top-grossing films). Talking about representation in class the other day, some students once again noted that even when "non-majority" groups are centered in media, it almost always centers on a stereotypical or, in this case, uniquely unrelatable character. We love The Rock, but that dude has a singular experience. Inspirational? Sure. Relatable? I don't know. But instead of focusing on the problem, we can look at solutions. The solution in this case, as in with most cases of media and creativity, is to get more voices in the room. #representation #mediarepresentation #diversestorytelling #dei

I'm not quite a legend. But I did it scared. I started my Care Management business because I saw the impact I could have and I knew that was bigger than my fear. Everyday and every setback, I push through and keep doing it scared. That has allowed me to do things I never believed I was capable of. #Nurses. Entrepreneurship can be scary but if it's what you want to do. Do it scared. #nurseentrepreneur #caremanagementnurse #nursesofLinkedIn #valuebasedcare

She shared, "I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana. In so many ways, his award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality. To quote the legend herself, 'This is the life.'"

"Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody's going to know whether you did it or not." - Oprah Winfrey The most important lesson my dad taught me as a kid was, "You do the right thing because it is the right thing to do. Not for reward or recognition, but because you know what is right." It isn't had to know what the right choice is in any given situation, but in many situations it is tough to make the right choice because there are often misaligned incentives to make a different choice. Making the wrong choice often yields short term reward whereas many right decisions have delayed results, or may not have any obvious recognizable reward at all. Integrity, at least by Oprah's definition, is the rising tide that raises all ships. By practicing it, you make the world a better place, even if you're the only one that knows it. #bebettereveryday

Case Study: Walt Disney. Walt Disney, the mastermind behind the Disney empire, faced countless failures before achieving success. From being fired for "lacking imagination" to navigating financial ruin and countless rejections, Disney's journey is a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of a growth mindset. In one of the sessions from our training, I delved into Disney's inspiring story and how his ability to learn from setbacks transformed him into a pioneering storyteller and entertainment visionary. "Think you can, think you can't. Either way, you will be right!" - Henry Ford. What you think about, you will bring about. American former baseball player, Sam Ewing said, "Nothing is so embarrassing as watching someone do something that you said could not be done." People who embrace possibility thinking are capable of accomplishing tasks that seem impossible because they believe in solutions. Walt Disney was known for throwing ideas that were possible away and going for ideas that were impossible because if you embrace possibility thinking, your dreams will go from molehill to mountain size. What are ya, a Pelican or Pelican't? #possibility #thinkpossibility #mindset #inspiration #personaldevelopment #livingyourdream #intentionalliving

There Are More Bench Players Than Starters.... If you read through the roster of any successful team, you will see that the starters are always outnumbered by the other players on the team. In professional basketball, twelve people are on the team, but only five start. Major-league baseball teams start nine but carry forty players. In pro football, twenty-two people start on offense and defense, but each team is allowed to have fifty-three players in all. (College teams often have more than one hundred!) You find similar situations in every field. In the entertainment industry, the actors are often known, but the hundreds of crew members necessary to make the movie aren't. In ministry, everyone recognizes the people up front during a worship service, but it takes scores of people working behind the scenes to bring that service together. For any politician or corporate executive or big-name fashion designer that you know about , there are hundreds of people toiling quietly in the background to make the person’s work possible.
