For far too long, many of the world’s business schools have failed to receive the recognition and visibility they deserve. Less than 1% of 16,000 business schools are ranked, while less than 10% are accredited by one of the three major business education accreditation bodies. Today, we are delighted to announce the launch of 𝘛𝘏𝘌 Business School Register, powered by Poets&Quants, the first-ever global directory of verified business schools. 𝘛𝘏𝘌 Register will showcase the many different business schools that merit visibility and recognition. Rewarding schools on the basis of inclusivity, not exclusivity and helping the different stakeholders, including students, faculty and alumni, to make more informed choices. Click here https://bit.ly/40fgGsZ to discover more about 𝘛𝘏𝘌 Register and how member schools will benefit from increased exposure through Times Higher Education and Poets&Quants. #BusinessEducation #TimesHigherEducation #PoetsAndQuants #IBE #Partnership #Innovation #Leadership #BusinessSchools #HigherEducation

Toward Culturally Responsive Instructional Leadership from Structured Critical Self-Reflection (CRILS) ABSTRACT This study analyzes a principal preparation course structured by Culturally Responsive School Leadership (CRSL) and critical educational leadership research. Introducing CRILS (Culturally Responsive Instructional Leadership Structured by critical self-reflection), the methodology aims to humanize school experiences for Black and racially minoritized students. Through qualitative inquiry, including interviews and analysis of racial autobiographies, the study found that critical self-reflection helped participants recognize biases and confront negative emotional responses. CRILS extends CRSL by incorporating lessons from pre-Brown practices and emphasizes reflective practices among all school-affiliated adults to foster student learning and guidance opportunities.

Summer reading continues! Fascinating to read this quote from 1827: "The American public is not satisfied with the present course of education in our higher seminaries." Still relevant nearly 200 years later. The quote comes from the 1827 Faculty of Amherst College trustees report found in Levine and Van Pelt's book (p. 33). Transformation is inevitable. Let’s reimagine higher education that is relevant for a new era. #summerreading #highereducation #leadership

I had such a great time speaking with the Vancouver Board of Trade about Unlimited Leadership and the Art of Networking. It was an energizing and heartfelt conversation with leaders and future leaders that genuinely got the blood flowing! Emma Richmond, Richard Butler, Neel Singh, Greater Vancouver Board of Trade One of my biggest takeaways is that networking is deeply emotional. It’s not just about making connections; it’s about navigating feelings like fear, joy, hurt, sadness, or even anger. These emotions are a natural and valid part of the process. I’ve felt them all. I don’t think I’ve ever walked into a networking event without a mix of fear and excitement—or left without experiencing either the joy of accomplishment or the sting of rejection or projection. Like any skill, networking takes time and practice. Over time, you’ll build your networking muscle, and it will become more natural—maybe even fun, especially for introverts! Emotions will show up. Celebrate them. They prove you’re alive, engaged, and invested in your actions. Embrace them, learn from them, and keep moving forward. 🙌 Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Networking! Let’s keep growing and connecting. 🙌

H. Rao Unnava, the current dean at the University of California, Davis - Graduate School of Management, has been named Poets&Quants' Dean of the Year for 2024. The 65-year-old marketing professor was recognized for his ambitious change agenda and decisive, unassuming leadership. 'Since becoming dean in June 2026, H. Rao Unnava has led a revolution in innovation,' said John A. Byrne, editor-in-chief at Poets&Quants. 'From new partnerships with other schools and departments to new degrees. Nearly 70% of this year's 441 incoming graduate students are in programs created under his watch.' Under Unnava's leadership, UC Davis became the first University of California business school to launch an online MBA, a Master's in Management, credit-bearing stackable credentials, and provide free online content to alumni. Unnava also accomplished the feat of launching an undergraduate business major in partnership with two other Davis colleges. 'The hardest thing is moving things forward through a bureaucracy, and the easiest thing is whatever you do, you do it for the institution and not for yourself,' said Unnava. 'I came here to do my best for the Graduate School of Management.' #deanoftheyear #innovation #leadership

On July 8, your Collegiate DECA Executive Officers (Eric Bedrosian, Sophia Smith, James Jeffrey Rogers, and myself) hosted the first virtual Collegiate Town Hall. The purpose of this call was to bring new and returning Collegiate DECA members in a discussion environment in hopes to share feedback and suggestions to help each other have a successful year. For those who weren’t able to attend, here is what was discussed. After we had everyone introduce themselves, the first discussion was on Collegiate DECA Knowledge where members asked questions about Collegiate DECA. This included aspects on how the high school division is different from the collegiate division as Collegiate DECA members take on more independent tasks compared to high school members. The second topic was about Leadership Strategies as members discussed on what recommended officer positions chapters should have. Because officers hold a large responsibility for tasks, each chapter can be flexible on how many positions are needed to function. It was also mentioned how connecting with local businesses can start from your own connections and being involved in local events to network with small businesses. The last two topics were feedback for the collegiate division as well as how can we, as executive officers, assist our members in a more effective way. Members expressed that having more calls similar to the town hall can be beneficial as it allows those to understand Collegiate division more. On top of that, additional tips on how to fundraise can help chapters host even better events as well as bring more members to conferences like the ENGAGE conference and Collegiate ICDC. A special thanks to all the members who attended our town hall last week. Later this week, we will release the future Collegiate Calls list for the upcoming year so more of our members can learn and grow together. Continue to enjoy your summer. #deca #cdeca #collegiatedeca #BeTheOne
