How much of a job description do you actually read? My team and I often get applications from people who aren't a great fit for the roles we're hiring for. It happens all the time - no surprise, right? But imagine seeing experienced marketers, developers, nurses, doctors, bank analysts, administrators (here goes a list...) applying for jobs like environmental scientists, ecologists, hydrogeologists or geologists! Even if you're passionate about the environment and think you can pick up skills quickly, don’t just apply because the title sounds interesting. Take a moment to read the job description! Job descriptions always list essential and preferred skills, and while there’s room to adapt, a Head of IT Security probably won’t thrive as an Ecologist. P.S. Don't take the examples personally (just a friendly reminder) P.S II: I am accepting applications from Environmental Scientists/Consultants, Ecologists, Hydrogeologists, Health & Safety and GIS professionals, 3D Modellers and LVIA Specialists at isadora@gaiatalent.com Happy Friday! 😁

GIS Managers often grapple with challenges around capability and capacity, resulting in overloaded teams. So, what are your options? 1. Training and Development: Upskill your team to bridge the gap. 2. Introduce new systems: This often involves lengthy scoping, budgeting and tender processes. 3. Outsourcing/Managed Services: Flexible access to experienced GIS staff. 4. Hiring: Not always the quickest or the best option Each strategy has strengths; the key is finding the right mix. Esri Australia can add both firepower and additional security. Visit: https://bit.ly/3PwsTUc 🌐 #GISManagement #BusinessChallenges
