2023 broke me in so many ways. Here's my reflection: I found a place where I had so much fun where I could utilize every skill I have all together (i.e. - art design, UX, data science & analytics, people skills, product marketing, etc.) I was challenged so hard, made difficult decisions, constantly roadblocked, had to find solutions to those roadblocks that even the experts told me couldn't be done; all at neck-breaking speeds. I wrote hundreds of documents, reviewed & tested work that stretched my knowledge. I spent countless hours every week studying and learning in several domains; all while wearing different work hats. I went for several conferences, was invited to be part of a few panels, networking meet ups, learned new things at various programs, connected with hundreds of people, picked up new perspectives, and made so many good friends along the way. I challenged myself to learn at least 3 things each week, and put them into practice. Even found a way to effectively turn each new skill into an opportunity. I challenged myself to build my own applications, tech infrastructures, write articles, and so much more within a few hours each week. I built over 60 working applications that helped automate the mundane. Created over 20 business intelligence applications that helped me to monitor progress in real-time so that I could get actionable insights immediately. I finally went on our honeymoon where we went on a huge road-trip, travelled over 1,400km around Japan, visited over 15 cities, and had over 60 new experiences. I finally visited my family after 4 years (because of COVID19). I became a father, mastered diaper-changing, and learning to be a better husband. Ventured into 4 side incomes, failed badly with one. I was humbled every step of the way, made lots of mistakes, accidently stepped on a few toes, and was fortunate to be given the grace to learn and overcome. I've learned to accept my limitations and understand where I could maximize growth in other creative ways. I lost A LOT of sleep and somehow slept well too. Overall, 2023 was a year of intense personal & professional growth. It broke the personal limitations I thought I had and has built me stronger, wiser, and more prepared for the future. Still so much more to achieve, learn & overcome. To many more new milestones for 2024! Cheers!🍻

I'm a father! 🎉 The Lord is good. Delivery was smooth, and exciting like a sports match. Started off with just us and a nurse. Kept looking at the numbers on the board to make sure the oxygen levels were sufficient, relaxed when baby's heart rate was low. Game on when the contractions began and we were cheering her on! Really thank God we had a good doctor that helped push us through the final stretch. How do you Reclaim your time when life throws you a Beautiful Curveball? My personal time was going to be a premium. I needed a way to optimize my time management, ensure things got done, and remain present in those special moments with my newborn and wife. I want to maximize on Google Tasks because I don't have to build something fully from scratch and it's easy to use. But I didn't like how I could see a never ending task list with future dates listed. So today, I set a challenge. Objective: To create an automated, streamlined daily action list that displays only the day's tasks and helps me stay laser-focused amidst the joyous chaos. I also wanted the flexibility to make changes seamlessly and have trackable data to monitor how I'm doing. With Zero overheads. Develop all of this within the couple of hours while my son is sleeping. Minimal development, maximized possibilities. How I Achieved This: 1. Google Sheets: Added my recurring action items, covering various types of recurrences, daily, monthly, yearly, specific days of the week, etc. 2. Google Tasks API: Integrated with Google Sheets to pull and manage tasks. 3. JavaScript: Automated the creation, logging, and status updates of tasks in Google Sheets. 4. OAuth2: Set up and ensured secure authentication. 5. Scheduled Triggers: Set up triggers to keep tasks current and updated. 6. Google Tasks Mobile App: Using Widgets, specified task lists, I can easily complete my tasks at a single touch. ... and tada! Outcome: My daily task list now shows only the tasks due for the day. Now, I can wake up every morning and see exactly what needs to be done for the day, all integrated with my Google Calendars and everything else. Parenthood and productivity can go hand in hand with the right tools. If you've got any life hacks for new parents or insights on time management, do share! P.S - Google, I gotta admit.
