Before our first meeting with RSC Anderlecht in 2022, the club, like many merchants, considered payments just as a commodity and not something really strategic. They felt their legacy payment solution worked "ok”. As football but also payments fans we, Adyen employees, also spend some time in stadiums and we had the opportunity in March 2022 to sit and explain to RSC Anderlecht our idea on what greater payments experience for the RSC Anderlecht fans could look like . Embracing the proposed way of working would mean taking a risk for RSC Anderlecht, and this in a complicated period (just Post Covid) fans were just returning to stadiums, and complicated sportive times ( the club was at the time not were it belonged in the Jupiler League Ranking) many would have seen this as the worst timing to take the risk of changing the payment solution. Yet Kenneth Bornauw and Klaas Reynaert from RSC Anderlecht saw it differently and decided it was actually the best time to invest in better technology. Adyen is proud to be able to play a role off the field as an exclusive payment partner, with impressive results as an outcome: 📱 From your ticket to your payment card, anyone who goes to watch RSC Anderlecht today only needs to have a smartphone in their pocket and enjoy a digital first experience from the first to the last whistle. Everything is in the wallet. ➰ The innovative open loop system at Lotto Park eliminated queuing and delivered an impressive 36.6% in-stadium turnover increase with more and higher transactions since implementation. 🔃 Thanks to Bancontact Payconiq Company WIP, subscriptions are now offered as if you were taking out a Netflix or Spotify subscription, on a monthly basis, which allowed the club to attract a younger and more diverse audience who found their way to the stadium thanks to that flexibility. 📉 musicMagpie, a UK-based online retailer specializing in buying and selling used electronics and media, has faced significant challenges since its IPO on the AIM of the London Stock Exchange in April 2021. Initially hailed as a market darling, recent financials tell a different story. Earlier this week, musicMagpie reported its results for the six months ending May 31, 2024. Revenue has fallen to £53.8 million, a notable drop from last year’s £61.9 million. The loss of £3 million, while slightly better than last year, still reflects ongoing struggles. The company remains cautious about the future and is still up for sale. From being a beloved stock, musicMagpie’s shares have tumbled, closing at £0.06 last Friday. The total market value now stands at a mere £6.74 million. In the US, the company operates under the name Decluttr, focusing solely on purchasing products for resale in the UK, ceasing US sales entirely. To accelerate profitability, musicMagpie has expanded into the clothing market in the UK—a tough sector with fierce competition. The strategic move raises questions about its potential success. It's expected to set a new standard, potentially influencing industry practices across the board. 🛡️💡 Why is the CE marking crucial? 1. Safety: It certifies compliance with EU safety, health, and environmental requirements, ensuring products are safe for consumers. 2. Quality: CE marking indicates adherence to legal standards, often implying a certain quality benchmark. 3. Consumer Protection: It builds consumer trust by confirming conformity with EU legislation, shielding against unsafe products. 4.
