DO THESE 4 THINGS BEFORE YOU SING to Get the Best out of Your Voice 1. HYDRATE 💧 Drink a lot of water 2 hours to when you need to sing. Water needs around 40 - 120 minutes to get to your vocal cords. Hence, if you wait till it is time for you to sing before you take water, you won't be properly hydrated while singing. A good way to stay hydrated is to take a glass of water every 30 - 60 minutes. 2. WARM UP 🔥 This is one of the most overlooked practices among singers. You take your voice from 0 - 100 without warming up and wonder why you suddenly became a "flat owner". Let's not talking about how you finish from stage and sound like a frog because you've lost your voice. Warm up always. Don't play with it. 3. LIGHT STRETCHES 🤸🏽♀️ This is especially important for the neck and facial muscles. Stretching eliminates tension and keeps your muscles nimble for the task at hand. Tension in any form doesn't help when singing. 4. REST💆🏾♂️🧘🏾 Some of you have a degree in "talkology" You talk and shout all day and you have to sing in the evening - how do you expect your tired voice to be at its best? 💡 If you have a profession that requires you to speak a lot, learn to take vocal breaks as much as possible. Only speak when absolutely necessary in order for your voice to rest. #nsisongudi #themusicdirector #voicecoach #singingtips

Turning passionate singers into powerful vocalists! Unlock your true potential and make an impact with your voice, Guaranteed.
Do you ever struggle with your high notes ? Like your favourite songs are just out of reach because those top notes sound strained or squeaky? I get it – it can be really frustrating. The thing is, not many people realise it, but singing at the top of your range is a kind of intricate dance. It needs fine co-ordination between your breath control, posture, jaw relaxation, and creating space in your resonators. And if you’re feeling stress or worry about hitting the high notes, it just causes tension which makes it harder. Waaaah! It’s not fair is it!? A lot of singers end up trying to ‘push’ those high notes out from the throat, unconsciously feeling that more force is what’s needed. But sadly this is really counterproductive! It actually makes things worse, causing that exact strain and tension we're trying to avoid. So that’s why I developed my 5 Step Range Expansion Method. It’s holistically based, blending healthy physical techniques and your inner, emotional perspective. This approach adjusts your vocal ‘pathway’ to sidestep the pushing and strain, setting up your entire instrument for ease and freedom, even at the top end of your range. So if you want those high tones to come out clearly, with ring, power and beauty... and you’re looking to expand your range above your current limit, So you can sing those high notes with confidence, and do justice to the songs you love , Then my 4-week Mini-course, ‘Flying High’, might just be perfect for you. I'd love to help your voice soar to new heights! Leave a comment if high notes are a challenge for you... if so, how? Or if you're curious about getting my help to expand your range with ease. #headvoice #soprano #singing #vocalcoach #highnotes #vocalrange #expandyourrange

HEAR ME OUT Auditory sensitivity is part of many ADHDer profiles. I experience this as: * Mishearing words of others in public or open spaces. I would make a joke of mishearing words, trying to minimize the impairment. I do so much better in online forums. * Getting agitated with certain sounds, repeated calling, or busy places. * Phobia about firework or balloon bursting sounds * Auditory overload while all are talking/chatting. I have to start talking to reduce the overwhelm. * I listen better when I do it with my whole body and through a single channel. In fact, I love audio books more since they meet my need to receive information through a single, clear channel. * Music and nature sounds help me to regulate. * I love my daily practice of mantra or sound meditation as it regulates the inner landscape. What has been your personal or professional experience with auditory processing challenges? How do they look or feel like? #sound #chaos #tranquil #overload #adhdregulation

🎤 **A Clear Voice Starts with a Healthy Throat!** 🌿 As a voiceover artist, your voice is your most valuable tool, and keeping your throat clear is essential for delivering crisp, professional recordings. Here are a few simple tips that help me maintain vocal clarity: **Stay Hydrated**: Water is your best friend. Keep your throat lubricated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, especially before recording sessions. 🍵 **Herbal Teas**: Soothe your throat with warm herbal teas like chamomile or ginger. Honey and lemon are great additions to keep inflammation at bay. 🚫 **Avoid Irritants**: Steer clear of dairy, caffeine, and spicy foods before recording—they can cause mucus buildup and irritation. 😴 **Rest Your Voice**: Vocal rest is just as important as practice. Make sure to give your voice a break, especially after long recording sessions. 🌬️ **Practice Breathing Exercises**: Deep breathing helps you project better and supports vocal control, reducing strain on your vocal cords. Keep your voice healthy, and it will keep working for you! 🎧 #VoiceOver #VocalHealth #ProfessionalVoiceArtist #VoiceCare #ThroatCare #VoiceActing #VoiceTips

Good read!!!1 Is your voice TRAPPED? It might be because your TRAPezius is getting tight. Your Trapezius is the muscle that connects the back of your neck to your shoulders. As a major neck muscle, the Trapezius can really interfere with the voice. Avoid lifting your shoulders when you inhale during singing. Also, make sure to not jut the neck and chin forward for higher notes. These habits create Trapezius tension. That said, the Trapezius can also become tight from many non-singing tasks in everyday life. So, try holding Trapezius down with firm pressure or giving it a solid massage while singing. This should not only feel great, but should reveal vocal freedom that has been TRAPPED by your Traps!

TIP: So proper breathing can be a mystery to many singers. In short, when you breath in (while not singing) your lungs and ribcage expands and your belly comes out a bit (unless you are holding it in). When you breath out there is a natural recoil as your abdominals go back in and your ribcage returns to resting. When you sing you need more air flow in order to vibrate your vocal cords, and more pressure if you sing louder or higher. This is accomplished by keeping your ribs expanded during that exhale and controlling the amount of abdominal pressure to fit the task at hand.... but how do you feel this engagement so that it is natural and not awkward, forced or contrived? As a singer 🎵 and vocal coach, I know firsthand how frustrating it can be when your voice just doesn’t seem to cooperate. You’re struggling for breath, you can’t seem to hit the notes, you’ve got a sore throat 😫 … we’ve all been there and it’s not pleasant, no matter whether you’re preparing for a performance or just a lesson. The good news is, with the right preparation, fixing these issues is possible – no matter the situation. 🤗 Here are some vocal practices to get your voice ready and warmed up for any occasion 🎤 : 1. Rest: Get enough sleep and avoid distractions in your bedroom. 2. Hydration: Stay hydrated throughout the day with room temperature water. 3. Diet: Watch what you eat and avoid irritants like dairy and spicy foods. 4. Protection: Rest your voice when possible. 5. Warm-up: Do gentle vocal exercises and full-body relaxation techniques. 6. Articulation: Practice tongue twisters to improve enunciation. Remember, vocal perfection is a journey. By prioritizing these practices, you can ensure your voice is always ready to perform at its best. Want to learn more?
