Take Bhakti Patel for instance, a brilliant engineering co-op student from Waterloo whose journey with us has been nothing short of inspirational. Bhakti stepped into AMLB with a sparkle in her eye and a fire in her heart, ready to take on new challenges. And that's exactly what she did. Her involvement spanned 4 months: -Week 2: Leading workflow projects   -Week 4: Crafting presentations for clients -Week 6: Contributing to our AI implementation efforts  -Week 10: Leading highly impactful business projects that involved multi-disciplinary teams You get the picture In our quest for growth, we've often found ourselves in uncharted territories, necessitating roles as diverse and dynamic as the markets we explore. Bhakti, like many of our team members, was handed responsibilities that far exceeded the conventional scope of a co-op position. But here's the kicker – she didn't just meet our expectations; she shattered them. Bhakti's success story is a testament to what happens when you empower smart, talented, and ambitious individuals with opportunities that challenge the confines of their resumes. At AMLB, we don't see "lack of experience" as a limitation. Instead, we see it as a canvas, ready to be painted with the vibrant colors of innovation, creativity, and determination. Bhakti's journey is inspirational for all of us, illuminating the path of what's possible when talent and drive are given the stage they deserve. As we reminisced about her experiences on her last day at AMLB, I was truly thankful for all her contributions and I hope she will be better for it in her future endeavours!

I am an #Alfalah Premier, #HBL Prestige clients I booked a term deposit via 'Alfa' app Had a nightmare experience trying to get Zakat exemption marked by emailing CZ-50 form to zakat@bankalfalah.com Gave up after 10 attempts; liquidated my term deposit I opened my accounts via Alfalah Rapid I finished applying for a credit card via Rapid Got a message to visit any nearby branch for biometric for further processing Visited the branch where my account is Some of the frontline staff were rude, refused to cater to my biometric request Others were aggressively pitching bancassurance products I tried to get Zakat Exemption marked in another branch; was refused service, told to visit parent branch (I wonder if someone of a high rank from the army, ISI posted at a new location would ever be refused service citing 'parent branch' concept) The 'Alfa' app sign up itself is also needlessly complicated-a lot more compared to HBL mobile sign up (on an Android Phone). Requires visiting branch again for biometric AND calling up phone banking officer for activation codes on E-Mail and SMS (they face 0 accountability and as such can give lethargic service; there are also bizarre, recurring technical issues across all Pakistani banks like OTP not being delivered while on call with a phone banking officer) Such trainings should be delivered online Ideally, there should be an E-Learning portal that your employees can access at their own convenience even at home Survey clients actual experiences, journey to better align products, services Digital first is the only way forward for a country with a humungous population like Pakistan; even your priority banking clients would value better self service options that reduce the opportunity cost of precious time lost to waiting (even if a branch's décor, ambience is pretty) A recurring frustrating experience is walking into a branch and being told half its human resources are gone for a physical training Workers will also benefit from a better work life balance
