I would like to commend the efforts made to strengthen investments in #primaryhealthcare, especially through the establishment of primary health care networks #PCN and providing resources to community health promoters. This is an excellent approach that brings health services closer to communities. As an advocate for women, girls, and newborns, I can see the significant progress this initiative can bring. However, my primary concern is the continuous training and update of community health promoters on emerging health issues and trends. Additionally, timely payment of their stipends is crucial. These individuals play a vital role in promoting community health, and they should be appreciated through proper compensation. I recognizing the importance of #community health promoters and providing them with the necessary support is paramount to achieving a strong primary health care system.Their efforts must not be overlooked as they have an invaluable impact on the health and wellbeing of communities. Thus, it is necessary to ensure they are well-equipped, trained, and compensated, ensuring they can deliver quality health services to the people. By doing so, we can continue to make steady progress towards achieving universal health coverage #UHC and leaving no one behind. @TimelyCare is helping to connect underserved communities to care. We see many similarities between campuses and rural environments, compounded all the more at our campuses in rural areas. "College campuses are, in many ways, very similar to rural communities when it comes to stigma and the desire for anonymity. By eliminating the need for physical travel, telehealth reduces the visibility of seeking mental health support. This can help break down barriers related to shame and social judgment, ultimately encouraging more people to take proactive steps to manage their mental health."
In Healthcare IT News, TimelyCare's Chief Care Officer Dr. Bob Booth discusses the impact that a shortage of #mentalhealth care providers has on rural communities, the role of #telemedicine in rural areas, and how #telehealth can help overcome the stigma of seeking support.

Transportation is a lifeline in healthcare, especially in rural areas. Many rural patients face a heartbreaking cycle of missed appointments and cancellation fees, only because they can't get there. Having a Community Health Worker (CHW) advocate for patients in these situations is invaluable. Instead of being fined and dropped, the conversation shifts to: How can we ensure patients attend their appointments? I loved this article by Forbes highlighting a growing recognition of the need for a healthcare model that addresses the root causes of #healthdisparities. As healthcare professionals dedicated to #advocacy and community engagement, it's crucial to understand the importance of Social Determinants of Health (#SDOH) and Health-Related Social Needs (#HRSN). One key takeaway is the emphasis on "housing first" interventions that provide supportive housing to individuals with chronic health conditions, including behavioral health issues. This strategy and these efforts aim to foster multi-sector collaborations and create a more equitable and holistic healthcare system. Highly suggest diving into this article... #HealthcareInnovation #HealthEquity #PublicHealth #PatientAdvocacy

☎️ It's crunch time for supporters of Community Health Centers. We need you to pick up the phone and call your elected officials! Lawmakers in the House and Senate are working against the clock on bipartisan bills that extend and increase funding for the more than 1,400 health centers nationwide and invest in the next generation of primary care providers. Please call your Representative today! Tell them why we need them to vote "yes" on long-term, stable funding for Community Health Centers. A few things to know before you call: * A sample script will be on the page after you enter your address. * You will be calling one Representative from the district of the address you enter. * You do NOT need to be an expert.
