☎️ It's crunch time for supporters of Community Health Centers. We need you to pick up the phone and call your elected officials! Lawmakers in the House and Senate are working against the clock on bipartisan bills that extend and increase funding for the more than 1,400 health centers nationwide and invest in the next generation of primary care providers. Please call your Representative today! Tell them why we need them to vote "yes" on long-term, stable funding for Community Health Centers. A few things to know before you call: * A sample script will be on the page after you enter your address. * You will be calling one Representative from the district of the address you enter. * You do NOT need to be an expert. You live or work in their district, and your experience matters to them. * The staffer answering your call is responsible for sharing your feedback with the Representative’s team. You can ask for their commitment to VOTE YES. Hear from staff, board members, and patients in this video from the following health centers about WHY there is no time to waste. Not only are Community Health Centers training healthcare providers, but they’re doing it better, Dr. Candice Chen told attendees at the 2024 Community Health Institute (CHI) and Expo last month in Atlanta. Dr. Chen is Acting Associate Administrator for the Bureau of Health Workforce at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS. BHW’s mission is to improve the health of people by strengthening the health workforce and connecting skilled health care providers to communities in need. #CHIexpo24 #ValueCHCs #TBT

You’re invited -- September 16 at 4 pm ET -- to join a virtual Town Hall where we will officially introduce NACHC’s new Strategic Framework. The new Strategic Framework is the synthesis of over a thousand visionary, bold, and innovative ideas about how NACHC can serve as the catalyst that helps position health centers as the employers, providers, and partners of choice. This is a moment of extraordinary opportunity for our movement and the new Strategic Framework offers a co-created guide for how we can seize that opportunity together. At this Town Hall you will learn about the framework, explore how NACHC is evolving through science, education, practice and policy, and ask questions about what lies ahead. Exciting news for Community Health Centers! For the first time, bipartisan bills have been introduced in Congress to significantly boost federal funding for workforce development programs led by health centers. The Health Care Workforce Innovation Act—championed by a diverse group of legislators—is set to authorize funding for training medical assistants, dental assistants, pharmacy technicians, and more. This is a crucial step toward tackling the pressing shortage of allied health professionals and ensuring our communities get the care they need. Health centers are already making strides with innovative programs! And this federal support could amplify their impact and expand these programs. Our new blog by NACHC’s Director of Federal Affairs Nicholas Widmyer shares examples of great programs in place from: ⭐ Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center ⭐ Cornerstone Family Healthcare ⭐ Minnesota Association of Community Health Centers Apprenticeship Program Read more: https://lnkd.in/eYuJeR_9 #ValueCHCs

More stories about how Community Health Centers are improving maternal health outcomes: With support from NACHC partner Center for Care Innovations, the new Project 100 from West County Health Centers is creating positive changes for the health of newborn babies in their Northern California community. The project is dedicated to ensuring that every one of the 100 babies born each year in this area receives the equitable care and support they deserve. “When I came to West County Health Centers, I wanted to continue my work with community partnerships, to focus on prevention and work ‘upstream’ to create healthy environments for babies and children in the lower Russian River area,” says West County’s Dr. Ellen Bauer. Through innovative approaches and a commitment to equity, Project 100 is working to eliminate disparities and provide vital resources to families in need. NACHC is a proud partner of Center for Care Innovations. Curious to learn more about how this project is changing lives? Read more: https://lnkd.in/dvsG4ajt

Relive the 2024 CHI and Expo experience! This year’s conference showed the diverse array of partners eager to work with Community Health Centers and reminded us of the talent and strength of the Health Center Movement. With limited resources, health centers continue to exceed clinical measures, proving their resilience and ability to do more with less. Together, we're working toward a long-term goal of growing the Health Center Movement to expand primary care and health equity for all! #CHIexpo24
