One of the hardest parts of being a dept head is identifying missing processes, designing them before finally selling them to stakeholders who have never seen them before in their lives. This is especially true in creative depts where operational processes are generally deemed boring & not very cool, simply because creatives tend to be completely divorced from the realities of running the creative dept as part of a business.

In the ocean of talented creatives out there in the market, how can you choose the right candidate? Well, Let's face it you possibly, can not. It's pretty much like a gambling game, you will need to be willing to take risks to find any chance to win. It's even more risky when you're in search of creative talents. (Creativity is like exploring a new way, and the exploration is accompanied by risk, it's ineluctable). You're choosing a (very) risky person, so, why don't make a risky move? By choosing the one that makes you feel the least comfortable, maybe? Just like creatives when they have to pick the best idea, the scariest one, potentially, might be a good one (who knows?).
