🚨 Heads up, hiring managers! 🚨 Don't let outdated job descriptions wreck your hiring game. With Q4 & 2025 Q1 around the corner, many of you are gearing up to make crucial hires. But guess what? Some of you are falling into a classic trap. Here’s the deal: You’ve lost team members and are in a rush to fill those roles. So, you slap together old job descriptions and post them on LinkedIn or send them to recruiters. Big mistake! Your needs have changed, and so has the business landscape. Before you go on a posting spree, take a step back. Reassess your hiring strategy. Stack rank your needs, identify your core values, and figure out the non-negotiables and nice-to-haves. Only then craft a job description that reflects your current requirements. Need help? DM me, and I'll guide you through the whole process.

I launched my agency in 2001 because I believed (then and now) that people are a company’s most important asset and I focus on helping people to showcase their talents and match them to the best organizations. Twenty-three years later, I am still in the people business—growing, pivoting, and responding to the needs of people. As our culture inches deeper into the world of automation, tricks, and tools, many forget a fundamental truth: creative work is about the makers and the work done by creatives—the people. Any work you see on my website is human-made—done by the creatives, artists, directors, designers, and marketers in The Keva Dine Agency world.

When you’re looking for work or trying to establish a relationship with a recruiter,  pay attention to how they like to be contacted. Think of us like an airport—thousands of people coming in and out, and we need to make sure we’re reviewing candidates, adding the right people to our database, and sending relevant updates. It’s a lot of work! So, those systems we have in place? They’re there for a reason. I get it, creatives, you hate filling out forms. But trust me, they’re important. So here’s what not to do: - Don’t comment on my post with your phone number. It’s not Craigslist, and it’s just strange. 😬 - Don’t send me a DM on LinkedIn with tons of copy and PDFs, then do the same thing in an email, and then submit a form on the website. That’s too much. Here’s a better roadmap: - Go to the recruiter’s website and see how they like to be contacted. Follow the directions. - Use LinkedIn DMs as a follow-up: “Hey Keva, I saw your post, I went through your channels, and I filled out the form—just wanted to say hi and give you a heads up.” This should come after you’ve requested to connect. - Don’t reach out without sending a LinkedIn connection request first. - A few days later, send a brief email follow-up: “Hey, I applied and sent a connection request. Here’s a PDF of my resume. Just wanted to say hi and I’m excited to be considered!” Short, sweet, and efficient. Don’t send the same thing three times on different platforms. It makes you look sloppy, and like you just copy-pasted everything. Customize your approach and use each platform effectively. We notice when you do it right! #CreativeProfessionals #KevaDineAgency #BFFRecruiters

I know LinkedIn isn't your fave, but let's be real—it's a must in today's job market. Hate to break it to you, but most of your profiles need a serious glow-up. No offense, but it's time for some tough love. Here's why your profile might be tanking: - Your Contact Info tab is a ghost town. How's anyone supposed to reach you if your email's MIA? - You think dropping your website link in the About section makes it a hyperlink. Spoiler: it doesn't. - It's clear you haven't updated in forever. You might be rocking NYC now, but your profile still screams Nashville. I get it, LinkedIn isn’t a thrill ride, but it's how recruiters and potential employers find and vet you. So, even if you'd rather skip it, you can't afford to let your profile flop. Get your #$%^& together and get one step closer to landing that dream job. Our LinkedIn Tune-Up's are designed for outcomes, tap into our knowledge base and get set up for success. (...because you know what you're doing isn't working.) #TheKevaDineAgency

Your resume is your first creative impression. Make it count. As a creative recruiter, I’m always hunting for candidates who showcase their skills and passion in every touchpoint. Sending a Word resume in a creative field? Major red flag. Innovation and visual impact matter. Even if you're not a designer, tools like Canva make it easy to craft an eye-catching resume. Or get a designer friend to help out. A Word resume screams "meh." Show some effort and creativity. In a competitive market, a stunning resume can be the difference between getting noticed and getting ghosted. #BFFRecruiter #TheKevaDineAgency
